Animator: What do you mean I have to shift his other hand on this gun model? That will take months!
Modeller: Well I don't wanna move the gun handle.. it looks amazing and took me months!!!

Todd: I think I've got an idea... :smug:

Maybe in Elder Scrolls 8 we will get an engine that supports inverse kinematics.. It's a pretty new (15 year old) tech.. Can't expect GameBryo to handle that so soon. :Inspector:
gamebryo supported IK for character's feet since Fo3.

Investigations into the leaker’s activities revealed that he was allegedly working in a warehouse and running an online store where he listed unopened products, including video games, perfumes, and electronics, presumably stolen from his workplace. It became evident that the Starfield game was also stolen from the warehouse.

SHIIEEEEEEEETTTTT~!

https://wccftech.com/starfield-leaker-arrested/
Image

Earlier this week, those eagerly anticipating the release of Starfield managed to get a first look at the first 40 minutes or so of the game thanks to someone who got hold of an early copy of the game. Having later filmed himself reviewing the game, it was only a matter of time before he would face the consequences for his actions.

As reported on the Starfield subreddit, the leaker was arrested yesterday, August 24th, for possession of marijuana and for theft of property between $ 2,500 and $ 10,000. In his videos and social media posts, the leaker essentially admitted to having stolen goods to sell them from the warehouse he worked at, which included multiple copies of the highly anticipated game by Bethesda. He may have become an internet celebrity overnight in the gaming community for his funny antics, which included an apology to Todd Howard, but the price to pay for fame was steep indeed.

With the leaker having been arrested and the game being so close to release, the possibility of more major Starfield leaks is quite low. Still, from the official footage that's been released so far, it seems like fans will be in for a treat, as even the game's opening looks considerably better in the launch build than in last year's, as shown by a short comparison video.

Starfield officially launches on September 6th on PC, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. Those with early access to the game can start playing it next week, on September 1st.

I liked the look, I just don't think their writing ever lives up to the look. Their concepts are always good, Shivering Isles still has the best concept art of any fantasy place in games or movies.

It was explained that it took around 40 minutes of walking in a long, straight line from the landed starship to reach this boundary

I thought you could land anywhere?
This might actually be incline if they cut themselves off on trying to create planet-like procedural terrains.. it sounded beyond goofy.

I don't find aimlessly wandering large empty environments fun, and the thought of doing that on procedurally generated "planets" makes me want to take a nap. There is also the question of how visually appealing most of these environments will end up being. A game like Skyrim for instance has a lot of great scenery, with lush forests and tall snow-capped mountains with plenty of things to see and do. But will Starfield (Soyfield) have anything similar?, or will it just be bland globohomo Sci-Fi with a weird tint for the entire game?.

Everyone should know it's going to be **** at release. What I'm wondering is whether mods will make it enjoyable.

Skyrim is is the opposite of lush, its colors are washed out and the scenery is very bleak. Soyfield could be good with mods after 4-10 years. Skyrim was playable day one because shouting and vikings.

But it's aesthetic is nice, sure the colors could have been more vibrant but I think Bethesda wanted to portray the province as a harsh and cold place. Oblivion was lush with color and dream-like scenery, because they wanted to portray Cyrodill as that archetypal Middle Earth realm. And despite the muted colors, Skyrim still has a lot of breathtaking scenery. Climbing towards High Hrothgar is always a personal highlight on a playthrough, and coupled with Jeremy Soule's timeless music it just elevates the experience to something greater.

I doubt Soyfield will have anything remotely similar.
