Random Encounters
How well does the encounter disabling mechanic work in Wild Arms games? Is there enough game between random battles to avoid the feeling you are skipping everything and losing exp? Which jrpgs do random encounter dsiabling well, that isn't just a bug spray you need to keep buying?
Weirdest cracker you know.
Games with this mechanic, I end up using it too much and then having to start again lol.
Once I get used to it, I just fight everything and then end up too strong, ahhhh!
It's why I liked Chrono Trigger, where they were on the map, rather than random battles.
There's been a few games with a mechanic where when you're strong enough, the enemies no longer "aggro" or target you or throw you into battles, and it's more a "choice", but none immediately spring to mind at the moment.

Megaman Battle Network pretty much made me ******* hate them so much that it went from apathy to just straight up antipathy nowadays. :/
Yeah. FF13, The Last Remnant, all Trails games, and Monochrome Mobius have their enemies visible on the field and you can choose to run around them or run into them and start turn based battle. In Trails if you are overlevelled then enemies will run away from your presence. I think that also happened in Spore's creature stage too. The current Trails arc, Daybreak, now has combined action combat so you can either run up into a monster and dodge and fight it in real time like Ins Ys or press a button to seamlessly initiate action combat on the spot without a screen transition.maidenhaver wrote: ↑ February 14th, 2024, 04:23Dragon Quest 11 has enemies run away, I know there's another one. A Trails game?

Persona 2 had the worst random encounters I've ever experienced in a game. Just constant random trash combat every literal two steps.
I'm just stating the facts.
Question is are you going to gargle the truth or swallow?
