The current version of Moonglasses (unofficial toolkit) isn't compatible patch 8. It's possible NA doesn't work.old-red-paint wrote: β April 15th, 2025, 14:29So Patch #8 just dropped! What is the verdict? Does it break NA?
I haven't modded BG3 since the official modding patch dropped. What is proceedure now? I would appreciate a run down on how to get NA working <3

Didn't want to go through the whole game and check everything but the books are still changed (Xhesilaphinthe is still a he). Unless Larian completely overhauled the way the game's files are stored/categorized with patch 8 I assume it should still work.old-red-paint wrote: β April 15th, 2025, 14:29So Patch #8 just dropped! In that case it's gonna be patch 7 foreva. I have the GOG files downloaded. I hope orin & co. who have made these mods that maybe Larian now will want to try and stop keep up their good work on patch 7 too, if that is the case.Lancaster wrote: β April 15th, 2025, 15:06The current version of Moonglasses (unofficial toolkit) isn't compatible patch 8. Everything seems to be working fine actually, gender in CC works, books as well, *******/******** are also gone, portraits from bba also work.
How do you install it? With the official mod manager, or the third party one?ChildInTime wrote: β April 15th, 2025, 18:09Everything seems to be working fine actually, gender in CC works, books as well, *******/******** are also gone, portraits from bba also work.

I use bg3 mod manager, not the ingame one. Also adding to this, even mods like transmog and item shipment network for delivering modded armors/clothes work without a hitch.old-red-paint wrote: β April 15th, 2025, 18:22How do you install it? That group in front of Withers' temple has a mage woman that carries a love letter. If its from a woman then NA isn't working.old-red-paint wrote: β April 15th, 2025, 19:19Cheers! I'm going to be playing/modding on Patch 7 since I'm busy with modding the BBA successor. Meanwhile if you want minor changes like Sir Aelen, it's simply a find and replace job. Will get it done with a few minor changes Tipfy pointed out for Aelen lines.
how to check if NA is working in patch 8:
Voice, Aesthetics and Lingo:
1. Speak to Aylin in prison. He should def have a male voice. And Look male
2. Every time he is mentioned by narrator or anyone else they should say he, and the subtitles should match.
Dialogue:
1. You shouldn't get any sexual dialogue with Z'rell
2. Speak to the Squatter in Rivington: There should be no woke dialogue options. You should get a choice to Attack the squatter when you speak to him.

I installed NA along with BetterAestheticsW a few days before Patch 8 and I saw the modified options in the Character Creator show up, with M/F/MS showing up instead of the numbered options. However after Patch 8 it looks like the mod isn't registering anymore, as right now I see the default body type numbers instead of the changed ones. I tried removing the mods from the active pool, deleting the modsettings.lsx file and generating it again with the same load order, but unfortunately I'm unable to get them working again after the patch.
I see that it's working for others, such as for ChildInTime
), so I don't have any experience with modding the game or any previous saves where I can easily check if the mods are working. I'm using the Character Creator as a reference of whether they're loaded or not. I don't mind troubleshooting, reading docs or whatever else might be needed - any advice at all would be very welcome!
EDIT: I'm also using the BG3 Mod Manager as per the installation instructions, with the load order mirroring the one over there.

Character Creator breaks after every big patch, its simply unavoidable. We'll get it fixed. @loregamerrogue_enjoyer wrote: β April 16th, 2025, 11:11I installed NA along with BetterAestheticsW a few days before Patch 8 and I saw the modified options in the Character Creator show up, with M/F/MS showing up instead of the numbered options. Oh that's interesting, so the rest of the mod features could still work? That's nice to hearorinEsque wrote: β April 16th, 2025, 11:23Character Creator breaks after every big patch, its simply unavoidable. We'll get it fixed. @loregamer
The part that's a bit confusing is that the CC still worked for ChildInTime as in the quoted post, so I figured I was just doing something wrong. I'll wait for a bit to get some more insight from others who got it to work, thank you very much for the fast reply!

The rest of the mods are designed to work with modding toolkit. Meaning it follows Larians "technical" modding rules and shouldn't break. CCreator mods are hard overrides of the Character Creator UI, so they break every time Larian redesigns the thing.rogue_enjoyer wrote: β April 16th, 2025, 11:36Oh that's interesting, so the rest of the mod features could still work? Awesome! We'll try the mod out later today. This isn't true anymore. They added better UI compatibility in the newest patch. This is on ImprovedUI's page:orinEsque wrote: β April 16th, 2025, 11:23Character Creator breaks after every big patch, its simply unavoidable. We'll get it fixed. @loregamer
15/4/25 patch 8 update - This mod is not maintained. Due to BG3 patch 8 changes, mod authors will now be able to make changes to UI elements such as action resources, without relying on additional mods such as ImpUI. A slimmed-down version of the mod is being tested (and is accessible via Nexus), which will not contain any of the mod's original UI features. This version should provide the least amount of friction with patch 8 updates, whilst also providing support for other custom UI mods that require amendments outside of the modding toolkit. For the time being, the current version of ImpUI has been tested and is compatible with the patch 8 release, but there may be a few UI quirks to it (especially around action resource icons). If you are experiencing issues with the UI whilst using mods not updated for patch 8, you may need to be patient until modders have had the chance to update them, or remove out-of-date mods until they have been updated. Use only if other custom UI mods require, otherwise can be removed.

I would pause for a few days while we get the new aesthetics mod ready. But you can use Plus UI in the interim. Mind dropping a hint or two on what's coming in the new aesthetics mod? I'm okay with waiting but I'll need to convince the rest of the party
I noticed that the download states Requires ImprovedUI. Patch 8 compatible. No longer requires ImprovedUI. - which is a bit strange. Maybe remove the Requires ImprovedUI part?
Also Orin the current installation instructions for NA link to the 2023 version of the BG3 Mod Loader, maybe replace with the Patch 7 version until it gets updated for Patch 8? I see there are some commits for it already, such as for the new "mods" that come with the game (like GustavX), so I guess it's coming soon.

Idk, but here's how it looks for me with patch 8, strangely enough I think I actually don't have the CC mod installed, since it disables strong bodytypes for females if I remember correctly.rogue_enjoyer wrote: β April 16th, 2025, 11:36Oh that's interesting, so the rest of the mod features could still work?
