I was under the impression that the fire's been put out?
I'm waiting for the confirmation from Irenaeus.
I'll read your on the game thread later and see if you guys managed to take enough steps to put it out or contain it. Last I checked, people were working on it.

@Irenaeus @Humbaba @Kalarion How big is this hole we now have two guys crawling into? I was under the impression that it's just big enough for a dog-sized rat.

If the GM is cool, it's gonna be big enough to crawl through and there'll be a dungeon at the end.

Yeah, it's about big enough for a small man to dungeon crawl into on all fours. It's also completely dark.

I say leave it for later. GMs do this thing, where a great evil lurks under a sleepy village, and we're supposed to leave it alone, then come back with more experience, or when we hear the village is burned down.

Hello adventurers! Decided to take take the characters generated by a few of us who have already parted the game as NPCs. Hope you're enjoying the pace, with "roleplay" and "narrative" double post. Have fun!

@Irenaeus can I create one of the old gods? I have a good idea :dice:

[edit]
I'd be willing to run everything past you to get your OK, of course. I'm also fine if you decline.

Is the fire contained yet? I'm not sure based on what I read just now.

Moved all the PbP for the game to a new subforum, @Irenaeus given moderator status over the subforum.

I'll think of the best way to let him add people to the group banned from this subforum, I'm sure there's an easy way to do it. Alright, Iren can ban users from here.

With so many people working towards extinguishing it, the fire will be out pretty soon. Everything under control, just need some water in there. :bounce:

I need to know how big the fire is, before I post again. If the back wall's on fire, its a lost cause, and everyone needs to get out or just suffocate and die. It sounds like most are still down there and hanging out.

It's a small fire that people are controlling. It should be out as soon as the water comes from upstairs.

Are the buckets with water available to be grabbed by the players on the inn's ground floor or are they still being brought to the scene?

In that case I'll have Stein move into the cellar again without one. Image

They are reaching the bucket-passing team (close to the cellar door in the upstairs common room) as the turn starts so you just need to go upstairs and grab them, maybe form a line. Be creative.

Can we just assume everyone in the inn pitched in with the buckets, so the npcs under Olwin have the fire under control? That way players are free to do other things. Please.

Nope, some players will have to carry the buckets downstairs and actually throw water on the fire until it's extinguished. Wet business.

I think micromanaging things to such a degree when it's not a fight in a Initiative order is detrimental to the enjoyment and it feels incompatible with the play-by-post format. We have already streamlined some rules to avoid stretching things out and even after that one tussle in a basement took us over a week of real time to sort out.
Having to explicitly spell out that we all take buckets of water and pour it onto the fire when there's an entire crowd of NPCs forming a fire brigade is silly. This is just busy-work.

Good point. I was being silly but let me be a bit more serious.

First, on the fire extinguishing:
Some players can act (post) that their characters will help in extinguishing the fire without going in details... I was under the impression some people like to roleplay these aspects outside combat/hazards but it's not obligatory as the fire is not a major threat - it's being managed.

Future adventures (to simplify/speed things up):
The clearer choices for the group this turn (today) is deciding:
a) to press further into investigating the tunnel...
b) or just stopping this rat cellar quest immediately.
If you do stop the quest immediately, we will be dealing with the consequences (rewards, conditions, etc),

In any case, after finishing this quest line, there will be a more missions/tasks to choose from with varying levels of exploration/skill tests/combat/roleplaying opportunities. I have designed a plenty of quests for this setting/adventure and outlined many more. This is how I intend to DM the game with various quests and overarching stories unfolding in the background.

In conclusion: Thanks for your comments and effort in playing logincrash. I'll take your post in consideration when setting tasks and obstacles going forward.
More suggestions and comments from the other players are welcomed as well, I'll adapt my work into the game based on general sentiment from you.

Kinda OOC, for future reference.
Felix: If only we still had my old circus nearby. It had a plethora of midgets (and bearded women) to explore that hole. But since I'm neither, I'm not going to get into the hole where I can't even unbend myself, but could be bitten from any side.

I don't suppose one of you lot could help pull the trough down? Carrying it is easy, but carrying it without spilling? Safe to say Dex ain't Hrod's best score.

@Irenaeus Just wanted to say that I am really liking how you recall your players' background and characteristics/mannerisms when writing and account for them in your writing  I think it's the basic of being a DM, but I have grown so used to everything being stripped to barebones that it truly is a breath of fresh air and very nice to see
