So this franchise is completely dead going forward right?
Considering there's only been ONE good game in the entire series, the question answers itself.

Got another mod to fix the weird ****** up blood splatter that seems to only effect the front bottom teeth and makes everyone looks like snaggletooth crackheads during dramatic post battle moments.

You know these games really are an interesting sort of litmus test for what peak libtardism was at the time. Every game pretty much is just one step further than what contemporaries were doing

Origins is the earliest and even just HAVING a gay romance option was very taboo and liberal. Even then Zevran is still a pretty awful person and is the stereotypical loose depraved bisexual archetype. Being a *** was a somewhat downplayed obscured borderline "bad guy" option.

By Dragon Age 2 there's multiple same sex romance options and now they're given to characters who don't really have it as a focal point of their character at all. This is during peak "they're just normal people like you or me :)" times. The plot has lots of "both sides are bad" type of stuff with the treatment of refugees and cultural outsiders like the Qunari being shown as unfair BUT they are still willing to criticize those groups at least a little bit.

Dragon Age Inquisition was considered hilariously "SJW" at the time. You have ******* being good virtuous angels who if they do bad it's society's fault. They cut Solas being bisexual simply because they didn't want to associate bisexuals with being evil. There's a ftm ****** character which was basically unheard of in most games. Prominent marketing of being able to romance the weird beast man. However even things like the ***** were side characters. It still didn't push things too far in ways that would make it totally unpalatable. You have your ugly ****/****** companions but also plenty of still conventionally attractive companions/romance options. If was a game that was largely trying to court the tumblr ****** SJW audience but still didn't completely commit suicide by making everything completely ugly.

Dragon Age Veilguard is the absolute worst of them all though. Absolutely has nothing but the peakest wokeslop mentality possible. No care given for anything else. All of the companions are ugly and unappealing. Where the games before would at least try to contextualize the gays (and *****) character into the setting characters just use modern terms like "non-binary" in the middle of this fantasy setting (???). Brutal alien cultures like the Qunari are only criticized in ways that conflict with woke liberalism etc.

Didn't she marry an 80 year old man? I swear it happened but it seems like it's been scrubbed from Google and Wikipedia :scratch-pipe:

I think you got things confused. She has the facial features of an 80 year old man might have been the mix up.

Sucking **** to get your awful D&D self insert put into a game that was made only out of obligation to EA. Grim.

Also apparently Bioware was afraid to put in any flirt dialog with Tallis because they didn't want to make Felicia Day uncomfortable. :turtle:

There was also a Tallis web-series she both wrote and starred in. Didn't think much of it.

EA really did just allow you to make anything with their various properties. So desperate to create a multi-media franchise. Did it work out even once? I don't know anyone who cared about the Mass Effect, Dragon Age, or Dead Space comics, movies, side media etc.

The steam recommended mods guide for this game is really funny
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/ ... 2379972647

>mod to increase run speed in these tiny console sized levels
>mod to just straight up kill every enemy on screen
>infinite inventory
>cheat items for instant max approval
>"lock bash" that makes rogues useless

Literally what "game" is left after this? Instantly solve combat, instantly solve companion alignment, make party composition not matter, speed hacks etc. Literally why not just watch a playthrough on youtube?

Corypheus bossfight is terribad. Extreme damage sponge with a reoccuring gimmick that requires entire party moving out of the way of rotating fire they will suicide charge into to melee attack an enemy.

May I ask why this series holds such importance to many on this forum? I played Inquisition back in 2019, and I never understood why it’s held in such high regard here. The combat felt boringly spammy and leaned too much into the “press A to awesome” territory. The writing and the game’s politics didn’t interest me much either. The world hubs felt too confined and close to each other to feel like a true open world, and they were terribly barren and empty.

I didn’t notice the ultra-woke elements others have pointed out, but I did find it strange that my male Inquisitor’s only straight romance options were either a butch tank or an Indian-looking secretary. I got near the end of the Trespasser DLC but gave up because I couldn’t stomach how hard it was—even on normal difficulty, and I started it right after finishing the main story and side quests.

I never played Dragon Age 2 or Origins, but I’ve read that Dragon Age 2 was rushed and mediocre. So, I don’t see how Veilguard would have been any different after the mess that was Inquisition. It got delayed multiple times, and much of the original pre-reveal content was scrapped and redone. Why were people even concerned about this irredeemable garbage of a “game,” knowing the direction the series had been heading since Dragon Age 2? It’s not like BioWare hadn’t already been ******** the bed after the Mass Effect 3 ending disaster.

IMO only Origins was good, maybe Awakening too. But it was already flirting with faggotry. From there it was just one long slide into the gutter. 2 was just bad even as a game, nevermind horrid writing and awful dialogue wheel, as Vergil noted more degenerate ****. Inquisition was a marked improvement in terms of the game quality, but it was a continuation of the downward trajectory with writing and message pushing. Veilguard is just... yeah, I guess it's a culmination of this long slide, a final splash the franchise become turd will make. I don't think we will be seeing another Dragon Age game, and considering this trajectory - thank god. I don't want to see what another crank on the message dial looks like for the series.
