I already quoted an Intel Graphics Programmer working on XeSS saying writing a common interface was simplistic.

If Nvidia didn't cut a backroom deal with CDPR.. then they could of implemented this support from the get go. This example is identical to someone adding support for DLSS to Starfield you dumb ******* ******.

Nvidia's customers aren't game developers - it's you and me. (Want proof? DLSS has free native integration in Unity and Unreal)
DLSS being proprietary only hurts Intel and AMD realistically speaking. This could hurt us as consumers if Nvidia becomes so dominant that they have no competition because they can then monopolize graphics cards. AMD being a healthy card manufacturer is important.

DLSS has free native integration already to those groups. If you are making a game, you will use DLSS for free for Nvidia customers unless AMD bribes / pays you not to.
You will also integrate FSR for free for AMD customers assuming Nvidia doesn't likewise bribe you not to. Out of interest of serving your AMD customers.
But fundamentally your adoption of this code serves your AMD customers only.
You don't need it natively in your engine.. the alternatives are better and free for you as well.
If FSR4 becomes better than DLSS, or is at least perceived as better by your customers (gamers).. you will just use FSR4 for everyone.. until that happens - you will continue to support both in your engine. (unless your bribed)

I am probably more worried than you about AMD imploding and then having to pay more money for Nvidia cards.

You are trading off graphical fidelity regardless of the game, so it's not "free performance" no matter how you look at it. There are downsides. I don't mean the alien fauna, but the aliens we're gradually introduced to and make first contact with.
