I'm aiming for is a bit more folkloric, chivalric romance/fairy tales - with dangers.
Folkloric eh? So something like this.

Can I take a longbow and six arrows, as well as my sword?
Added a Medium Bow and 10 arrows to all Fighters and Rangers.

Let me know if it's all correct and clear, then we can discuss the rules a bit and the setting. And then finally start the game!
I don't mean to be a stickler but alla dem guys carrying tons of stuff around, does that come with a free backpack or how is everyone carrying that?
Good point. I'm going to do character figures showing where all the equipment is carried.

First adventure idea: steal a carriage because we have no place to put our loot.

@Jordy am I seeing this correctly that the bard has no instrument? Is he a singer?
There is only one musical instrument to buy and it's way out of reach in terms of price so I guess he is going to sing war songs.
As a bard, you can start with any musical instrument you pick for free, either a flute, lyre, lute, tabor, etc.

That's not what I'm going for. It's more like this and more:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matter_of_Rome
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matter_of_France
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matter_of_Britain
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chanson_de_geste
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chivalric_romance

All filtered through familiar D&D adventure fantasy.

Alright, seems like everybody is eager to start the adventure.
Let's check first if there's any rule questions that need to be clarified now before we begin. Do we need a thread for it or keeping it here is good enough?
Also for the setting, does anyone wants to add their suggestions?

A separate rules thread is best, and I like the idea of a chance meeting in a frontier settlement kind of setting.

That's my idea for the first adventure. :toot:
I've written the general outline, but anyone with suggestions for styles, themes and tone can help me develop it.
I'll also open a thread just for that.

ACKS has intros to both Wilderness Adventure and Evasive Pursuit, were you thinking about one of those?

Make villages little islands of relative peace, and make night time dangerous. Shephards with their dogs might be the only people still awake, with everyone else closing their doors and staying inside after dark.

With Kalarion having picked "Detect Evil" and "Resist Cold" as his Cleric spells, and everybody seemingly accepting their starting equipment. We can declare the character creation part of the game over and move to the next: rules-making and setting-building next.

Could you add the Survival skill to Norman, please?
Just wanted to reiterate that I have added the Survival skill to Norman based on his background.
Here it is if anyone is curious:

Could I roll for it and add Age to my character sheet?

Sure, but you could choose any age from 18-39 as well. If you want a specific backstory tying your age to some skill or trait, we can also discuss including that if it makes sense for the character.

Milo and Cnut 2.png
Name: Milo
Class: Ranger, Beast Master
Stats: 8 Strength, 16 Agility, 14 Constitution, 13 Intelligence, 14 Wisdom, 12 Charisma, 18 Luck
Traits: Early Riser, Steady Hands, Short. He is a hardworking young man.
Backstory: Wanderer's Blood + Noble House + Trader + Dark Secret. Milo was the youngest son of a noble house enriched by trade and intrigue, he wasn't very involved in the management of the family business and mostly kept to the manual labor: traveling, bartering, and taking care of the caravans' mules, oxen and dogs. But when he discovered what his family was doing, Milo could not bear the pressure of the secret and fled to the frontier.
Skills: Scout, Beast Friendship, Animal Husbandry, Diplomacy, Navigation, Barbarian Language, Persuasive, Good with numbers, Recognizes valuable items. (I have no idea how that works I wrote down all the skills given by the different tables)
Motivation: Faith, God lights a path for him when he doubts.
Starting equipment: Staff, medium bow and arrow, leather armor
Money: 36 - 26 = 10 copper.
Store: Dog (a mastiff called Cnut), a ragdoll as its toy, 1 unguent, 2 bandages, 2 rations, one sling and rocks, and a sack to carry all that.

I'm adding personality traits that I can try to stand by:

I regenerated my character a dozen times because he was really ugly and it bothered me. Now he looks like Timothée Chalamet which was unprompted but it's probably because I insisted on "young but with an adult face" because he kept generating old men or kids. Also I struggled to turn his stick into a proper staff. But I can't get rid of DallE's **** filter.
