I don't know enough about 40K lore but I feel it might be the same with Darktide. The detail in the ship lobby is impressive.Cipher wrote: ↑ December 27th, 2024, 23:12has some clear passion from the devs like the way stuff looks and how the witchcraft sigils appear when you move and stop when you stand still. Little details here and there that demonstrate that someone at Saber really likes 40K but they got saddled with ***** writers that forced ******** and lore inaccuracies.

@rusty_shackleford Yeah, she is ugly *and* a woman, horrible combination. And don't forget muh quirky black woman pilot Masozi with ugandan accent or strong military woman Zola who every character somehow very much respects
All of this is made worse as the rest of the game is actually pretty good now, even great. However there really is a "suspicious amount of women" making it really grating sometimes...

Ya... it's such a good game otherwise. I met that ******* character and bailed immediately. Steam entirely. Couldn't take that soy rot and the norms and consoomers any longer. I miss the gameplay, though.
Not that GoG is any better. Got myself another badge there. Might post about it but who tf cares even at this point. GoG is infested with gatekeeper commie managers, I found out. They're NOT your friend. Let's leave it at that for now.

Brainrotted ***** will look at Bloodhound and immediately associate him with child predator ****. lol
FlaahGitz is based asf.
I know its a good meme, but I still think its worth pointing out that this last year Miss Universe 2024 was an actual real beaut that actually deserved to win.
And as anyone would have expected, the mainstream legacy media began to accuse the beauty contest of "wasismus" and "twansfobia" simply because a real woman who just happened to be White and blonde won the contest. lol

repeatedly read libtards saying how "akshually the emperor would have demanded everyone be atheist and he would have hated having himself be worshiped!!!"
looked into it, and it's because gods are made by believing in them in the setting and he didn't want more chaos gods made
if anything, it seems like them believing the Emperor is a god turns him into one, a very effective one against chaos

Bought the new Asurmen, Swooping Hawks, Warp Spiders, and Fire Dragons to join my painted Banshees, and then they made them all more expensive and nerfed them, but it's not like I was ever going to play back home. I kept hoping I'd get sent to a ship with somebody who played, and gave up on that by now.
The ones currently in charge of "mainstream" tabletop do have a nerfing fetish, most likely because they understand that "everyone is equal" means that everyone is equally weak and pathetic.
Funnily enough, the OG versions of Warhammer 40k which was just called Rogue Trader 1st Edition had overcomplicated but fairly balanced rules that made it possible for like a regular human to kill a Space Marine if the right conditions were met. That type of balance is much better than "everyone is the same".

So what you're saying is: in Warhammer, the God of Israel doesn't exist, but worshipping Him would have made him an evil chaos god, thus making state atheism just and reasonable.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ March 21st, 2025, 23:16(not big into wh40k)

However worshipping the Emperor himself is fine, and just turns him into a good god. Not anti-Christian at all! When is the Space Marine Tensei JRPG coming out?

The Emperor absolutely and explicitly didn't want anyone to worship him. He nuked a city and read the riot act to his own son for daring to build temples to him. (Relevant: much of this is mid-2000s lore, when New Atheism® was at its peak.)Brugmans wrote: ↑ March 22nd, 2025, 00:35So what you're saying is: in Warhammer, the God of Israel doesn't exist, but worshipping Him would have made him an evil chaos god, thus making state atheism just and reasonable.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ March 21st, 2025, 23:16(not big into wh40k)

In the newer lore they even added an arc near the end of the civil war where he is almost tricked/tempted to ascend into a god to defeat Chaos, but ultimately is made aware and rejects it at the last mine. It would have been a fifth chaos god or perhaps an over-god, but definitely an evil one.
The cult of the Emperor started in secret and only grew into an official religion after the Emperor got put on the golden throne as a half-dead corpse and wasn't really aware of it.
I don't know anime so I'm not sure about the last question.
That would be great as ****.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ March 22nd, 2025, 05:49Older editions seem to imply the emperor is Jesus, but that has seemingly been dropped.Brugmans wrote: ↑ March 22nd, 2025, 00:35So what you're saying is: in Warhammer, the God of Israel doesn't exist, but worshipping Him would have made him an evil chaos god, thus making state atheism just and reasonable.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ March 21st, 2025, 23:16(not big into wh40k)

Wouldn’t be surprised if that was original intention from the early edition and slowly got deemphasized as newer editions came out by GWS.Reichspepe wrote: ↑ March 22nd, 2025, 12:05That would be great as ****.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ March 22nd, 2025, 05:49Older editions seem to imply the emperor is Jesus, but that has seemingly been dropped.Brugmans wrote: ↑ March 22nd, 2025, 00:35

The Monkey's Paw curls. TLDR; 40k lore is a complete mess and there is no established canon. The whole thing is a giant, multi-decade copout by GW. The one constant throughout all of GW history is that there is no true God; only the creations of the psychic emanations of the sentient races, and the implacably evil Chaos Gods. It's gay as ****.Reichspepe wrote: ↑ March 22nd, 2025, 12:05That would be great as ****.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ March 22nd, 2025, 05:49Older editions seem to imply the emperor is Jesus, but that has seemingly been dropped.Brugmans wrote: ↑ March 22nd, 2025, 00:35

Rogue Trader and I think Second Ed? Maidenhaver can perhaps confirm here, had the Emperor as just a man. A great man but that's all. The same with his Primarchs. They were just human generals of his armies. He wasn't turned into a not-god until like 3rd Ed, at which point several implied origin stories were created.
The first was that he was born immortal in the mists of Earth's pre-history, and was literally every influential religious figure in history (and most of history's Great Men), trying to guide humanity on the Golden Path to Secular Humanism. Then there was the idea that he was the spiritual gestalt of a council of psychic shamans who sacrificed their lives in a ritual that created the Nietzschean Ubermensch. Then there was the Starchild/Sensei, which was some Eastern mysticism wuwu ****.
Each of these received Black Library support in one book or another btw.
They finally settled on the "born immortal in pre-history" origin for the Horus Heresy.
He also "canonically" hates all organized religion, and did indeed attempt to force Secular Humanist Atheism on the entire Imperium (his dramatic smackdown of the Word-Bearers and Lorgar was the genesis of Lorgar's rebellion).

All of this is made worse as the rest of the game is actually pretty good now, even great. However there really is a "suspicious amount of women" making it really grating sometimes...
