Yes, Abdel Adrien is acknowledged. Altho it does not confirm he was gorion's ward, I assume he's just a different bhaalspawn instead.

Unrelated note, you gonna do another play through? Still a few weeks before Starfield.

I think there needs to be a bit more time still.. but I am looking forward to modding the **** out of this game.

No.

Also forgot to add that,

I can't believe the final Shar area took me so off guard and I didn't see it coming. Should have been incredibly obvious.

Being able to use non-lethal knockouts is cool and more RPGs need to add it. Every time I used it(where warranted), quests correctly acknowledged that I didn't kill certain people.

Also like that they made bodies items you can pick up. I pick them up and put them in containers to hide them. Dunno if it does anything, but I suspect it does if you're a criminal. They basically turn into containers in your inventory.

Finally Visited Jaheira's home.

This was a nice touch:
(Not a big story spoiler, but gave me a grin so might be worth it to find out on your own)

She has a secret vault in the basement and when you try to enter she says "oh there's no weapons or anything useful in there.. move on" - I actually believed her until I opened the first chest and found the two most OP items from BG2, Belm & Staff of Ram. Both infamously useful for cheesing.

Nice touch. There's no forced joke or note.. they are just there.. Lol. ***** lied though. Also they seem pretty **** in BG3.

Did you miss the Khalid stuff she also had in the vault, along with the research for timeless body?

The absurdly low level 12 level cap ruins level progression because you reach that well before you enter the city. But can see why they made it level 12. They ran out of time to add content that could stop a level 11 party already. Multiclass is useless because spell slots limited. (So all the mods that allow higher levels via multiclass have no point.)
The problem isn't the level cap, the problem is they give out too much XP.
They should increase the amount of XP given out prior to level 5 by 2x, and decrease the amount given out after level 5 by half. I really doubt it will cause any balance issues because you'll still be generally within the right level range most of the time. With the readjusted curve, you'd be halfway to level 10 when you'd hit 12 currently.

For reference, I hit level 12 at about the time I entered the city. The game doesn't pool XP past 100,000. But that's 100,000 at the current level, not total. Meaning I had at least enough XP to be level 16, and was probably closer to 18-19.
Honestly looking at it this way, they might have originally intended for the max level to be 20.

When you suck off Larian, you directly make that harder for the non-pozzed devs to do.
I dont get this. Why the **** does it matter if theres pozz in the game when the devs give you the option to kill it.

Youd think the opportunity to go full crusade on this ***** would make people be ok with ****.
Because the *** **** in this game is paraded as something totally fine and is shamelessly in-your-face. It's normalizing gross deviance. I'd say it matters to point out that BG3's success is only going to further bury this genre in a shallow grave with Bad Dragon dildos as its dirt.

Which makes it even more surprising they were really gonna set the max level to 10.

I think level 16 was probably the sweet spot.
You can get a few level 8 spells and they dodge needing to build out 9th level spellbooks (First 9th is level 17 I think?)

--

BG1 did this the best IMO.. they actually had spell scrolls beyond the level you could scribe and I think if you played a single class druid you could get the most powerful spells of all classes in the game based on level cap.. because of how 2E XP tables worked - although my memory is sorta hazy on what BG1 shipped with, vs ToTSC vs TuTu vs EE.. I'm old and feebleminded now but I'm probably right - maybe. :Inspector:

TL;DR - I think capping spellbooks is fine but it would be neat if a few high level scrolls were floating around as rare items / treats.

That didn't surprise me.. but then when Astarion squatted over his cold dead body and snatched up Boo to force feed the poor thing into his vampire-rectum - moaning like a faggy *****.. I was sorta shocked. TBH. Still GOTY tho baldurbros.

tbh inquisition was worse overall which cemented it what, a decade ago?
I can trivially avoid most pozz in bg3, in inquisition it's repeatedly forced into your face and you have to interact with THE BVLL.

I will say that there is one companion that has kind of grown on me and that is Lae'zel. If you play as a tiefling she will pronounce the name wrong and you correct her saying; "It's not teeth-ling. It's tiefling with an f." and she just rolls her eyes at you like "who cares". I can only imagine that RetardEra will throw a fit at the imaginary racism shown by the racist lizard lady.

Companions are really bad. And overly horny. The **** will try to rape you, not even joking. You'll tell them you aren't interested and they keep propositioning you for sex.
Yknow Wrathfinder is a game were you can tell the buckbreaker to go away and it never comes up again. But that game is too pozzed for based rustleford.
rusty_shackleford wrote: August 14th, 2023, 00:39
Companion variety is bad. Yeah, you can respec them, but the character doesn't match the class which isn't fun.
Wanna know which game has companion variety? Wrathfinder.
rusty_shackleford wrote: August 14th, 2023, 00:39
Feels a bit rushed towards the end altho much better than Larian's previous late-game content. You can feel the railroading start to hit after an entire game of extremely open-ended content. But it's maybe the last 5% or so of an otherwise massive game.
Sounds like Wrathfinder but that game is **** right?
rusty_shackleford wrote: August 14th, 2023, 00:39
Respeccing breaks the game. Don't believe me?
Holy jesus... is that.... IS THAT.... BLOAT??!!!!! NOOOOOOOO!!!!!! IT'S JUST LIKE WRATHFINDER!
rusty_shackleford wrote: August 14th, 2023, 00:39
Being able to magically teleport your items to your stash also unfairly penalizes strength-based characters and gives away one of their primary benefits.
You see a good rpg would include bags of holding, like that one Wrathfinder game I heard so much about.
rusty_shackleford wrote: August 14th, 2023, 00:39
I spent about half my play-time at max level which sucked. XP curve needs rebalanced, should get to level 5 faster then dramatically reduce XP gains.
Wrathfinder has a good xp curve.
rusty_shackleford wrote: August 14th, 2023, 00:39
Level-up screen UI needs major improvements. I need to know what these classes get at higher levels rather than this level.
Wrathfinder has that.
rusty_shackleford wrote: August 14th, 2023, 00:39
Badly needs more feats. In fact, separate out the ability-score "feat" from regular feats. Screw 5E here, it's just dumb.
Right, so BG3 doesn't have enough bloat but Wrathfinder has too much bloat. There's no pleasing Lariancels.
rusty_shackleford wrote: August 14th, 2023, 00:39
Really should have been a 6 member party game. Always felt like I was lacking things I shouldn't have been in a D&D game.
Wrathfinder has 6 companions.
rusty_shackleford wrote: August 14th, 2023, 00:39
Camping supplies stop mattering halfway through the game, should be really more scarce & act 3 reworked.
Wrathfinder scrapped supplies after Kangmaker had the exact same problem but Kangmaker is the better game than Wrathfinder right?
rusty_shackleford wrote: August 14th, 2023, 00:39
More camp stuff. More involved camping. Camp ambushes. Camp roles to keep watch, etc.,
Guess which game has that.

tl;dr the dumbshit retardation of Wrathfinder haters laid bare, proving once and for all that hating on Wrathfinder was an idiotic hivemind campaign perpetrated by codex npc's who only recognise incline if it's DnD and you walk around in the woods for a bit.

When installing mods manually, unless told what the value is supposed to be, what value goes in the following line in modsettings.lsx

<attribute id="UUID" type="FixedString" value="???"/>

In some cases just have the .pak

Load order is just order of nodes in modsettings.lsx

Okay now that I've explored the last act more.. ehh..

I think honestly the City was oversold.
It's not that big, you can't visit a lot of the more iconic areas.. Frankly the whole thing feels sorta meh.

Not gonna lie.. I think Act 1 is the strongest part of the game. It's kind of a slog after that.

I'm debating just quitting here and waiting for their first "MEGA patch" before rerolling.. (The game is getting very buggy with quest flags / continuity right now) although - if Starfield comes out first I might just wait a year or two. I've lost a ton of motivation to keep going.. I can feel that a giant *** sewer maze is coming up and I'm dreading trekking through it.

Most popular romance: White (half-elf) woman who isn't a slut
Most popular race: Half-elf, barely, followed by human despite human having its racial bonuses completely removed and given to everyone else
Most popular class: Paladin, by a mile.
Good was vastly preferred over evil

Gary Gygax completely, 100% vindicated. Gamedevs & journos left seething.

CON:

Legendary items are not distributed well at all. The first one is really well done (Act 1)
Act 2 has nothing really as far as optional items go..
Then everything else is basically right before the final fight.. with a few exceptions.

The game really feels rushed at the end.. they did a lot of great optional content and exploration in Act 1, the pacing was really good and lots of fun stuff to find.. then Act 2 and Act 3 are super break neck rushing to the end.
