Total War: Warhammer

I've been playing this despite being extremely awful at RTS games and originally bouncing off of Warhammer as a franchise pretty hard in the past. I am having a lot of fun with Warhammer II surprisingly but I am playing on easy so most of the challenge has just been from me not knowing how things work. Haven't played as any faction except for Imrik so far since I can't imagine a more Vergil-coded character than a haughty high elf dragon prince

Never played it, but AFAIK this series singlehandedly brought Warhammer Fantasy back after they shitcanned it for nu-warhammer(AoS) that everyone hated. GW is publishing material for Warhammer Fantasy under some new line again.

Which makes it cool.

Buy the base game and then you can use CreamAPI to unlock all of them instantly

It's not like a Paradox game thankfully. The only reason to buy a DLC (besides the blood one, which is stupid) is because you want to play as that Lord/faction's extra units. You don't need all the DLC for those factions and units to appear on the map. Any gameplay changes or QoL improvements are just included with patches.

I do wish Imrik's start wasn't so difficult. I got backed into a literal corner by orcs my first attempt. Trying to be more aggressive and avoid that happening again but things aren't going as cleanly as last time unfortunately.
Here's how much last game ended up. Basically a turbo stalemate I'm not good enough to get out of.

but ye the obsession with putting characters in ******** start positions for 'muh variety' instead of where they logically should be is lame as ****, makes me pretty much only play as the main faction leader and just use the 'confederate defeated legendary lords' mod to make one giga faction with all the boyz in one happy family

I told a friend of mine who likes Warhammer I tried Imrik as my first faction and he called me a ******** and told me to play Tyrion instead ;_;

Yes and I am very happy about it, I just bought the Khemri box.

I alwayss wanted to play Fantasy, never had enough money when I was young and when I had it was already on the Horizon that it was to be discontinued.

Restarted my Imrik campaign. Instead of taking out the Dragon Isles immediately I decided to go west and secure the Wolf Lands to hopefully keep the orcs from becoming an unstoppable juggernaut again. The dwarves seem to be doing better anyway so as long as neither of them decide to **** with me I should be clear to go **** up the dark elves now.

I think GW should've never touched the lore of their mainline Fantasy series after the End Times event, because not only Age of Sigmar made the apocalypse totally irrelevant but was also a pretty lame continuation on top of that, like they tried to resurrect their original Fantasy series but it came back as a hideous zombie.

Boredom and curiosity mostly. I'm not very good at these games. To be honest I hate fighting skaven because they can just spawn armies behind me so I usually auto resolve against them and that's largely what I've been fighting so far.

Also, I really don't appreciate this real time strategy war game having random **** *** puzzles. As if I don't feel like a brainlet enough already!
