A level 58 hardcore player just lost his character because he did the quest that requires you to drink a lethal potion so you can see ghosts :salute:

I finished the Orenwya questline and then started the 11.1 Undermine story.

The Orenwya story is awful. It's modern WoW storytelling at its worst. Unlikeable characters, lots and lots of standing around and pontificating about "how we must change and care about the outside world" and "find your own path" and "tradition is bad" and so yadda yadda. And it is delivered with the typical slow talking and modern Hollywood orchestra boomy/swelling music. Pompous. This cutscene pretty much encapsulates it.

After that I started the Undermine patch, which so far has been an improvement. So far there has been nothing aggravating or nonsensical like the prior Kirin Tor epilogue and Orenwya storylines. I think they've done a decent job quickly characterizing the four cartels and their leaders. However, coming off having just finished Kuro 2, I am not super enamored with the story and it hasn't been super exciting. I have taken a few breaks rather than being engaged enough to sit down and finish the story in one go. It is odd that one of the main characters, Renzik, is not voiced, so you have Gazlowe and Orewnya talking to Renzik and then you hear nothing.

The environment art is great. It looks like that fanmade Goblin city one of the WoW private servers made using Cata assets, but with higher production values. I like the retrofuturistic technology. It's also a fun city zone to adventure through, probably the best one to date. We have had two prior city zones in WoW before - the Nightborne city of Suramar in Legion, and then the Nerubian city of Azj-Kahet earlier in TWW - but both cities were the capitals of a hostile kingdom we were at war with. So the populace was hostile to us and you had to sneak around to avoid getting detected and ejected. It also didn't make very much sense to be playing a humanoid race walking around a city of spider (yes, there was the lore explanation that they have poor eyesight and you were coated in pheromones so that they thought you were one of them, but it was still odd). Whereas you are not at war with Undermine as a nation and the populace are not hostile to you, so you can run around at your leisure, with only certain areas being populated by hostile mobs from one of the enemy cartels.

The music is also pretty good, and I like the airy glassy theme that plays in the Steemwheedle's alchemy workshop. I am a little disappointed however that Undermine is a separate map from the rest of Khaz Algar. It is not a part of the rest of the Khaz Algar underground world. You can't seamlessly fly down from Dornogal through the Coreway and the Ringing Deeps into Undermine. You have to fly to the Ringing Deeps and then click on a rocket train to get a loading screen that teleports you to Undermine. I know that lorewise, Undermine is probably not near the Isle of Dorn, but seemless flight is just so satisfying. Maybe they could have done something like the hyperspace flightpaths in Shadowlands where the player flies into the tunnel to Undermine and then lands on a rocket that then travels very fast to Undermine, giving the impression that you just travelled a long distance in a few seconds but without a loading screen.

I just skip through any cutscenes and don't even pay attention to the story now. WoW lore has been defiled and raped beyond recognition. I played through all of the first patch and have AOTC'd Nerub'ar Palace and i still don't know what is happening. I think the last time i payed attention to the story was Legion.

First raid in the fresh classic server tonight, people are just as they were 20 years ago. It blows my mind that people spend all the time it takes to reach max level (easily 200 hrs) and yet still have no concept of how to play their character. No idea how to prep for raid content, fire mage going into a raid full of FIRE ELEMENTALS!

I mouseover the 5 icons to get a quick rundown on what they have on them ICly that is not obvious from looking at their character model, and read the tooltip to get an idea on what their lore race/class/affiliation is supposed to be, and that's it. I don't read bios.

so ANYWAY

Here's some Pally specific macros for my fellow holy bros.

#showtooltip
/cleartarget [dead]
/startattack
/cast Judgement of Wisdom

You should macro all your skills, especially your direct attacks, and even use @mouseover macros for your Excorcisms, Repentence, Hammer of Justice and Lay on Hands abilities ( things with ranged ).

" /cleartarget [dead] " This line will unselect a dead target you may still have selected.

" /startattack " Will target the nearest pos while respecting your swing timer without you going passive and resetting it after unselecting the dead target as mentioned above.

Applies to all classes btw. Stop right clicking to attack enemies, and if "Auto Attack" is on your bar at all... holy sweet baby Arthas...

" /cleartarget [dead]
/startattack
/cast *ability name here* "

This should be on all your damaging abilities. It's easy and lets you just spam click the key to target the next Godless heathen after the previous one has eaten the dirt with minimal effort/no manual targetting. Manual right clicking things is for PvE when you need to Auto-shoot a ranged weapon and @mouseover a taunt/instant to pull another group.

You play Hunter, Mage, ranged classes? Add this to important **** like Polymorph, Concussive Shot...

" /cast [@mouseover] Concussive Shot "

" /cast [@mouseover] Polymorph "

Targetting someone let's them know that... you know... YOU are targetting them with your next spell. @mouseover's can fool them into thinking you are castingg that next spell on your current target and not them. Stop hard targetting and then casting ****. Most normie dipshits will have more than enough time to click their interupts.

Also you should use Ctrl and Alt, modifiers. Sounds like too much but once you get the muscle memory for the skills, you'll be all teh more efficient. You can macro ONE single key to do 4+ things with modifiers. I utilize this most on Warrior when tanking. I have keys macro'd that do 4+ things, depending on what you have pressed along with the skill button ( 1 + alt... 1 + ctrl... 1 + shift... ect )
123_exo6.png
Casts your AoE Consecration, holding alt and clicking casts your AoE undead stun for PvE, holding ctrl and clicking casts your Turn undead spell for fearing off DK pets.
123_exo7.png
When not in combat, casts your mount, when in combat or moving, casts your finish hammer at mouseover target.

So with some technical stuff out of the way/to be added when I recall.... there comes the mindset.

I do not leave losing BG's. Do not type bs and insults to chat. Does nothing but get you reported by pussies and sensitives. Silence or words of encouragement only. I fight it out until the end. Join a WSG down 0-2? Don't care. I fight like a monster and be a nuisance until it's over. People will remember your name and how hard you fought even in the face of a ridiculous defeat. My brother and I fight like surrounded starving savages no matter what. Your Loss/Win ratio doesn't mean ****. Fight like a ******* cornered wolf, make them remember you. They see your name in the BG list, they may get the jitters, **** up their gameplay.

Music wise. We all like some bangers to pump us up for fight time, if you're a guy that is, broads don't get it. Some times you need a track to help you light some MOTHER FUCKERS UP....Here's a few to add to your list if you are playing the best ******* class there is; Paladin.

Death Knights.

They are my favorite opponent. They wear plate, they are my class opposite. Most people hate fighting them (3.0+). I love it. Sorry @Val the Moofia Boss haha. Here's some heaters to Hammer of Wrath them to.
