he's willfully ignorant if he thinks gamepass numbers don't matter
Developers are using the same inverse-cope to justify zero sales. "n-n-no Gamepass ate my homework!"

Xbox Game Pass Titles Reportedly Lose “around 80%” of Revenue For Being On The Service
Sounds about right. Why pay $70 for something that looks like crap when you can rent it?

Streaming also destroyed home video sales.

It’s all a grift. Gamepass is just them trying to hide how much money they are bleeding. If people knew how successful not buying their slop games really was then it would encourage them further and all these large companies would bankrupt overnight. They’re trying to pretend like they’re okay so people don’t go in for the kill when they sense how weak they are.

Also trying to tie people to their ****** hardware, as always.
You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

5 million people added it to their xbox library, the others probably launched the game once.

As funny as it sounds, Veilguard, which EA was giving for free, managed only 1.5 million "engagements". Obsidian beat Bioware! :D

People bought Oblivion like 5 times. Wouldn't surprise me at all if this sells well. Plus, the key art is attention-grabbing.

that's a pretty decent number.

Stalker 2 "reached" 6 million players a couple of days ago. That game was also on gamepass.

Is this **** at least easily moddable? Maybe cool Cipher, Druid and Chanter abilities can come from mods. Wouldn't make the game good. Just less ******.

Decided to pirate this to try it out.
The first screen you see (the "compiling shaders" loadscreen) is the first red flag outside any other meta issues surrounding this game. The next red flag is the giant "Unreal Engine" splash screen. Peak jeetsourced Unreal slop.
Also, the artbook is a Unity .exe instead of a **** .pdf for some reason.

About two hours in. So far it's pretty boring. The term "slop" is indeed the best way to describe it. Aside from the fact that everyone looks like they're in a drag show (as in "flamboyant ******* dressing up as women," not "cool muscle cars burning rubber racing"), it's fine in the most unflattering sense of the word. It looks worse than Veilguard graphics-wise, if you can believe it.
And it plays like a worse Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, at least so far. That game had very fun physics-based combat, but this is very stilted and awkward. It has this ******* annoying thing with enemies near teleporting to you once they're in an attack animation. Say, a big guy is attacking you with a warhammer and, while he's rearing up to swing at you, you step back quite a bit. Well, he will just zoom up to you and clobber you unless you press the designated "dodge" button.
Also, the UI sucks ****.

It appears in some videos that if you use a multi-part combo and strike with the initial attack, you do the whole animation and strike with all of them despite the enemy moving or being knocked away mid-animation and you clearly missing.
Strange that you are locked in place but the enemy is not.

The first PoE game's writing wasn't that great either. It was generic fantasy slop while still being plenty woke. It just wasn't in your face about it.

Yeah these modern slops have lowered the bar to such an extent that now even so-so games from 10 years ago look great in comparison.

Okay, my PC crashes every time I launch this game, so I won't be playing it any more.
From what I've played so far (~3 hours), it's been boring and ugly and uninteresting.
Don't bother even pirating it.

Pillars was a highbrow game, just not a particularly well-executed one.

Lowbrow crap is Bioware, pre- and post-Morrowind Bethesda. Obsidian is now thoroughly staffed with midwits.

I assume the people confused as to why 2025 obsidian is nothing like 2014 are confused because they think writing is like making mcdonalds
