This is a nonstandard map size, I believe.
Looks like at least 2x the normal maximum.

Also, what's with all the shafts?
I only ever build one first thing, then I just run wires and hook up teleporters.
You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

It's a regular Large World map zoomed out all the way. 8300-8500 feet either way from the center, about 1200 feet up and 3500 feet down.

The hellevators are there to prevent biome spread and make it easier to find stuff, like the Pool of Shimmer or the Jungle Temple.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Vietnam_War_games

In the past 10 years there were 2 games of note(i.e., not a browser/mobile game) set during the Vietnam war. I'm not counting DLC like the list does.

Meaning there were more Vietnam titles in 1990 than in the last 10 year span.

You are overthinking it. Who makes highly produced media and fictions about America and American? Almost always, Americans, with the intent of being successful domestically. There are some one off American themed games by non-Americans, like Sakura Wars V, Metal Wolf Chaos, the current Trails arc set in fantasy America, etc, but those are the exceptions and not the norm and they avoid strictly following history. There were a lot of movies about Vietnam, but these were big with boomers. It is boomers who rave about Apocalypse Now and Born on the Fourth of July (also, these movies have helped shape the modern view of the East-Asian wars as being pointless affairs and examples of greedy American expansionism and have led towards apathy towards these conflicts). Then there were a lot of government propaganda movies about the forever wars in the Middle-East, but who was it going to theaters? Was it Gen Y and Millennials? No, they didn't care about the forever wars with goat herders on the other side of the planet. That is why the propaganda movies were even made in the first place. It was boomers who had their TV set to Battle 360 reruns. It was boomers bringing their kids to the theater to watch Act of Valor. I can only think of a couple people younger than 50 who was really interested in consuming historical American wars and media. Everyone else shrugged, maybe watched a movie and was not invested. Games are a new medium, with FF7 kicking off high production value AAA games in 1997. Gaming is not predominately a boomer hobby. There simply is not as much passionate interest in a Vietnam game. It is a niche. WW2 has more appeal due to the mythologized grandiosity. You can have huge numbers of troops running across fields with squadrons of planes dogfighting overhead and mighty fleets in the ocean, heavy fighting in picturesque German towns people like and empathize with, germans in cool uniforms, big band parties and dancing at base, etc etc. Much more appealing than what is viewed as an evil vs evil conflict that shouldn't have happened with ugly aesthetics.

ww2 is just a bunch of people shooting at each other hiding in bunkers while waiting for planes to come drop bombs on them
vietnam is hardened soldiers crawling thru a jungle with death lurking around every tree, every foreigner is a potential threat, etc., In fact, you'd really struggle to come up with a more interesting modern warfare setting than vietnam.

Vietnam war games aren't made because the bad guys are unambiguously the north vietnam communist invaders funded by foreign governments doing a heckin imperialism in south vietnam. Wouldn't want anyone to take too close of a look at that.

A game where you play as an American soldier mulching 100 kilogooks/s with a minigun? It's too racist to even think about, nevermind the politics.

So basically, a Vietnam game would be Rambo killing dark-skinned Asians instead of ******* cops.

I imagine why modern game devs would have something to say about that.

No, this isn't some tiny indie game. It's published by snoy, It has reviews in *ahem* ""major"" news outlets like e.g., Newsweek. It has been in development for 5 years by an entire studio.
I saw a clip of it that featured first person child romance :|

Games journalists are obsolete. They had a reason to exist before the proliferation of the internet when it was impractical for every consumer to contact game devs to ask them questions, and you only had your circle of friends to draw from and the magazines you read when evaluating whether a game was worth renting/buying. Nowadays, everyone has internet access and you can just go to the game dev's forum or steam board and ask questions and get answers, or ping devs on twitter.

This turned out to be to the great benefit of the devs, because we now know they're all massive *******.

He wasn't even on the job, he'd retired from serious policing I believe. I think he was Chief of Police of some small town or suburb or something.

He was just an old man, still married to his first wife, with kids and grandkids. Trying to stop a bunch of dumb monkeys from robbing a neighborhood pawn shop. Wasn't even threatening them, he just told them to stop acting like ******* (not his words).

He was doing what all of us moan and complain we want more of in our neighborhoods, and he got shanked by some sub-70 ****** for it.

His name was David Dorn.

I think about that sometimes too.
