Romances, the problem is that they rarely have any consequence. Eg - If you date an Eldar in a WH40k game, as an Rogue Trader, how inquisition, your companions, etc would react would be much more interesting than the romance itself. In M&B, all machinations of nobles involved in marrying and right to rule is more interesting than the marriage itself.

My two cents regarding the "romance" stuff on modern RPGs, I believe this is simply the Western devs lashing out in a tantrum about the fact that when given a romance choice, the vast majority of players always pick the good-looking companions over their queerfreak self-inserts.

If we don't want to romance their monstrosities, then we're not allowed to romance anyone, apparently.

Rogue Trader lets you practically drape your bridge in Chaos imagery and the Interrogator you have on board just goes :sleepy:, there's a ton of missing reactivity in that game.

Crusader Kings is probably the only game that appropriately depicts the long-term consequences of marrying the right/wrong woman.

Yes, reactivity is a lost art and is essential to a good RPG.

Ironically, Outerworlds was peak reactivity in RPGs until BG3. I assume most people who care about that skipped it and didn't know this.
The lack of people like Cain working on Avowed really shows, ****** or not.

Technically, only the first one is romantic, the rest never even mention flirt or sex. Sure, the characters are sexy - it's Asian gacha, you can not sell ugly characters, but it's not "sex in games".
True, they're not about sex, but most of them let the player raise the affinity meter of the characters, and some allow you to "marry" one (or multiple) of the characters.

I just heard Endymion call Avowed goyslop. He's part of the Grummz/SmashJT crowd so I did not expect him to say something that based. I wonder if he doesn't realize that it's a reference to the *****.
I hate this ******'s fat face he won't stop showing up in my recommendations, he just stinks of being a grifter.

A game filled with romanceable ******* and queerfreaks with only 1 token White straight guy, and the White guy ended up as the most popular of all.

I had to go back to a YouTube video sharing this tweet because the pussyass devs of ValiDATE deleted this tweet from their X account, which serves to show how immature Western game devs truly are.

That person is right. I do think about that a lot.
It's why I enable telemetry and exclusively play as white male characters. :smug:

BG3 has extremely little reactivity, Wrathfinder blows it out of the water in that respect. You will deny this because you are stupid. Never played the Outer Worlds because everyone said it sucks.

Tim Cain is gay. There is no excuse for this.

A highlight from last night's stream. My character fell through the map. Game crashed. I came back in and this is what I found.

Never heard someone talk about "razing" art before. Is the art being referred to a structure of some sort?

How the **** do they manage to always make the most repulsive-looking characters imaginable? It's not even just the character designs, but the artstyle and expressions too. It's like their sole goal is to maximize revulsion, yet I assume they were trying to make something that apples to the woke demographic?

Or is this all just performative, a woke tax paid by buying a game they'll never actually play - purchase the woke slop while gooning to Asian waifus incognito?

They don't ****.

They sext, rizz, cosplay, kink, dom, edge, groom, and a million other vaguely sex-adjacent actvities. But they don't ****.
