Rimworld Episode 38: The New DLC Comes Out In Like 5 Hours And My Mods Won't Be Compatible Anymore
Dorfleet and his wife are DMPCs. The slaves are captured enemies. I had to look half of these guys up.WhiteShark wrote: ↑ February 14th, 2025, 20:46Is there a list of which character belongs to which HQser? Not sure if some of these names are just recruited NPCs or what. Also, may I submit a new character? It seems my dreams of a comeback have been thoroughly crushed.

You can make another character, but you'll need to roll 1d46 for each death to get a penalty trait on top of whatever you take at character creation. If you roll something you already have, you get a pass.

Episode 19: SCP - Containment Breach

Boon starts us off by cursing us all with a heat wave.

Val and Tangerine arrive on the scene. Tangerine may have received a few bonuses for his commitment to fighting with only his fists.

Appropriately, covetous impids show up to burn our ****. One in the top right had a drug overdose as soon as they arrived.

While everybody is scrambling into position, Raviola has another heart attack and Boon has to drop what he's doing to save her again. She's in prison because we had to throw her there when she was having an episode outside of the walls during an attack.

Val heads to the armory and snags a familiar looking monosword.

Ironically, our unfinished wall extension provides the imps with plenty of cover on the east flank.

While they're lacking gear-wise, every single one of them is capable of breathing fire.

After driving them off, everybody has a jolly good time putting out fires.

We accept another mission to import trash. The dickheads drop it on the other end of the map though, so plenty of it dissolves before we can haul it back and recycle it.

After analyzing another chunk of revenant flesh, colonists will now recognize its ragged breathing if they happen to be next to it while it's invisible.

Hoss cows Elias into submission as Boon looks on, unimpressed.

Dorfleet then catches the revenant and it gets caught in a crossfire, finally going down and melting into a puddle of black goo, leaving only a spine behind.

Vergil brings the spine to a holding platform where it instantly resurrects, albeit chained up and unable to move.

Val spends most of his time creating sculptures. We'll be forcing him to turn all of the compacted trash into modern art so we can try to offload it onto an unsuspecting trader.

Sounds easy enough. We're starving for gold, and the legendary helmet is amazing.

We get to see the skip wolves in action when they attack random passerbys.

They completely trounce them. They teleport very often and are able to completely swarm someone at a moment's notice.

Kalarion and Zoth weren't able to get inside before the wolves strike. The range on their ability must be massive, because they were at the other end of the map.

Kal has to fall back to his knife. His armor completely protects him from their teeth and claws.

Zoth puts up less of a fight and has to have others shoot them off of him.

Two best friends, hanging out and manufacturing new weapons after the FN FALs

Tangerine finds a wall that we didn't build while mining and calls for some support before he smashes it down.

A bunch of fleshy mutants pop out and the larger ones explode into a bunch of little ones when killed.

Tangerine puts up a good fight, but the friendly fire didn't help. Val moves up and keeps them back with his sword.

Inside are a bunch of cryptosleep caskets. Though we had armed men stand on watch while we opened them, it turned out to be unnecessary. The occupants left without a fight. A few neutral bugs hopped out too.

Inside the crate was a psychic animal pulser. It can be used to drive all non-tame animals in the area hostile which can be very useful if we need backup during a siege.

Stack grabs and injects the psytrainer from before, acquiring the Chaos Skip psycast. It can be used to teleport a target to a completely random location. An invader could be sent a few minutes walk away or directly inside our hospital.

A definitely biologically female young lady appears and joins us. She's single and ready to mingle (nobody has spent any turtle coins on flirting yet!!!)

We use the gold to set up a neat new piece of tech next to the monolith.

Stack loads the one surviving impid into the draincasket.

Two pipelines are linked to it. One feeds him bug guts from the nutrient paste tanks, and the other siphons blood to a large vat at a rate designed to keep him alive yet docile.

Inspired by recent developments, we set up a mortar of our own. No more being forced to sortie if there's an invader setting up camp beyond rifle range.

Filthy dirty beggars show up demanding silver which we gladly give them. We're an incredibly wealthy community at this point.

Boon levels up his psycasting and gains an ability that essentially lets him full-auto his anti-material rifle.

Playboy Val hits on single mom Kirsten and forms a relationship. Just bee yourself.

Unfortunately, slaves and colonists can't sleep in the same bed. Only 3 coins to emancipate her, Val!

Chuck's iconic sash becomes a mythic item after he becomes the greatest craftsman on the planet. He mostly learned by recycling garbage though...

Duke is selected to wield our latest weapon, the R-6 charge rifle.

Ammunition comparison between the R-6 and FN FAL. I'm not going to waste time explaining what RHA and MPa mean, because surely everybody already knows. And if you really don't, here's a two and a half hour long video to help you out.

The second wall is coming along. Those red squares represent pollution. If you look really closely, you can see a pollution pump near the glowing blue mushrooms that'll slowly suck it up and produce wastepacks we can recycle.

Rusty tames a few wild horses we can use to travel more quickly.

We get trusted with random children quite often for some reason.

@rusty_shackleford hits 15 in his Animals skill and can select an expertise.

Stack shoots his shot and gets turned down.

We have an entity containment breach!

Molotovs are carelessly whipped around to keep the revenant visible.

Despite that, it sneaks away... and then quickly reveals itself to hypnotize the kid we're taking care of.

This time it doesn't escape and the kid is quickly freed.

Tangerine isn't ******* around with this guy again. He stomps the spine flat.

This idiot didn't make it past the second door and gets chains up again.

Just to confirm, if I liberate this slave, does the relationship matriculate into a marriage? Or is this woman just going to be strung along and pumped and dumped? If so then I mind as well use the coins for skills.
Is anyone going to spend 2 turtle coins to organ harvest Val's side piece?

I think rolling the D20 is going to be the most amusing option considering how well my previous turtle coin spends have gone.

Episode 20: Night of the Living Dead
Danger is his last name

The first harvest of devilstrand has come in. Our tailors get to work making new dusters, shirts, and pants.

Set up a second recycling bench to keep up with trash output.

Rusty has become a plainsmaxxing yurtcel with the horses he's been taming.

Val creates his first trash masterpiece

We use the powerchip salvaged from the War Queen that Vitya summoned to create an alloypack splitter, turning trash into significantly more valuable materials albeit at a very slow rate.

More dickass bugs. The price we pay for cowering within a mountain base.

Vitya, Dorfleet, and Waifu are unable to get away in time and pray the wooden doors protecting them don't get targeted.

The tunneler makes for a pretty good tank

Vitya gets brave and pops out to gun down a completely harmless slug that exists to provide light.

Nest cleanup

These infestations have become routine. The people merrily fix damaged equipment, stomp bugs to death, and carry off the remains for processing.

Vitya tries to spend some coins wooing Waifu but his reputation with her is too low. Maybe soon he'll get his chance...

Hoss rolls the D8 of Time and gets a 3, becoming a year younger. Crazy to think that we've been here for 11 years and the new guy gets the first qt 3.14 gf

Chuck rolls the Die of Heaven and gets a 17, earning him 2 passion points he can put in any skill.

Kirsten takes off her slave collar and joins the colony proper, since she shacked up with Val.

Very helpful research.

Hoss' turn to flirt with Waifu. Hello, Human Resources?!

We've set up a geothermic generator on top of a steam geyser that produces a ridiculous amount of power constantly. Two walls, since it's so far from our base.

A bunch of holes open up a cross the map and enemies come pouring out

They're at the walls before we can get shooters lined up

This time we try to defend the unfinished wall

But we get overwhelmed and fall back. Raviola lags behind and gets picked off

Val gets cut up holding the breach when the front door gets smashed open. This is the first time an enemy has gotten past our glorious wall.

Rusty brought one of our wolves into battle. It didn't do too well.

Kalarion sets up a little homemade hive in the cryptocasket room we unearthed before. He's going to try his hand at breeding bugs.

And it worked! We've got a little bug zooming around and dragging stuff back to his nest.

Kirsten proposes to Val and he accepts. That was quick. The wedding is on.

Vitya scrounges up enough goodwill with Waifu to attempt a romance... and fails.

A feast in our way-too-small dining room. Raviola's fine, btw, Musa went back for her when it was safe.

Two cool guys sleeping together

A wretched grey fog descends and begins animating the dead

An otter skeleton is the first to rise

And then all of the thornspike bodies we didn't bother getting rid of

Stack's frag suit becomes mythical

They're back for revenge, and we're in the middle of switching up ammo types so everyone's running around dry

It's getting really dark out

Even with NVGs, GhostCow fills Musa with bullets while trying to shoot an enemy off of him

Both front doors have been broken down and all that's standing in the way of the courtyard is the few guys who called dibs on the first batch of incendiary and HE ammo.

Walls are getting breached

And even dead turtles are starting to rise up

A psycaster with a caravan that was visiting us decided that this giant ******* fireball was an appropriate response to one undead turtle. She killed 22 baby chicks that we sold them.

It was a real struggly, but we held out for two full days before the fog lifted and we were able to put the last batch of zombies down.
