Breaking "even" actually would still be a complete financial failure due to inflation. $100 million spread over the past 8 years is worth significantly more than $100 million today. Hard to say exactly how much they spent each year over that time-frame without getting hands on the accounting books, but $1 in 2016/2017 is the equivalent of about $1.30 today. They probably need to make anywhere from 10-25% over budget to actually break even. Plus people still need to account for the advertising budget which very commonly can be equal to if not more than the development budget of the game itself.Tangerine wrote: β February 8th, 2025, 16:18I didn't do the math for consoles, but I did say with other sales it'd get over $100 million. Breaking even is considered a failure, since you don't want to spend years on a project just to make back what you invested into it. It won't be a flop, though, unless they spent a ridiculous amount in marketing. My guess is even including marketing it'll break even within its first year.traxtan wrote: β February 8th, 2025, 14:43As much as I hate this game and want it to fail you're forgetting consoles. Double that 60 million and they broke even on production costs, now marketing is another story.Tangerine wrote: β February 8th, 2025, 14:34I wanted to give the best case scenario, but if we go by those numbers and assume 1/5 are sales in China, that'd reduce Warhorse's take to a bit above $60 million.
Bro, try reading the thread. Looks like a parody of the first game.
I'm telling you what the outcome will be. Steam will not be removing KCD2 from their store. Vavra will not get arrested especially consideringrusty_shackleford wrote: β February 8th, 2025, 13:15It's not a movie with real actors, they're 3D models and vavra did not deny hans being underage, who is based on a real person.
You might want to go remove some files from your harddrive considering how hard you're defending this.
Going on about this just makes you lot come across as unhinged. The age of consent in the Czech Republic is 15 years old for both heterosexual and homosexual sex.
Why would czech republic laws apply to a store based in USA selling to US customers?Roguey wrote: β February 8th, 2025, 19:19I'm telling you what the outcome will be. I don't think anything will be done, mainly because the US (and many other countries leadership are filled with jew ****** ******* pedos).Roguey wrote: β February 8th, 2025, 19:19I'm telling you what the outcome will be. If it was a game made by indies, it would be removed. This has already happened multiple times with weebporn games. It took me a whole 5 seconds to find a list of games banned from Steam:

I think it's more about how much pushback they'd get.rusty_shackleford wrote: β February 8th, 2025, 19:30Either it's breaking a law or not, but the standard applied changes based on whether Valve can bully the developer and/or how much they profit from it.

You all say I go too far when I say I'd cull 7.5 billion, but I'm still being quite lenient with that number...
Yes, how much Valve can bully them. A big publisher can retaliate, Embracer might pull out from the platform.
There would be no leeway if it was a small indie weeb game.SniperChris wrote: β February 8th, 2025, 19:33Jan was born 1388?. They are going to be hanging onto that "?" like it's a grappling hook.

Modern westerners are so used to being slothlike that they actually don't know what an athletic 15-16 year old male looks like.
googled "highschool football quarterback", clicked one of the first linksrusty_shackleford wrote: β February 8th, 2025, 19:46Modern westerners are so used to being slothlike that they actually don't know what an athletic 15-16 year old male looks like.
Looks like Hans to me!Dowling Catholic quarterback Ryan Boyle, right, worked with teammates during football practice at the high school in West Des Moines on Tuesday afternoon August 12, 2014.
It's a fair question that there's a double standard applied. People have been charged & convicted merely for writing textual stories of underage characters, why shouldn't the same apply to big budget productions?

I wonder sometimes what devs are doing at work for years to produce a game that looks exactly like the first. The game is already made... It really takes all that time to come up with story and new quests and a few new characters? It's ridiculous.7Trickster wrote: β February 8th, 2025, 19:31200k still a lot of dummies, holy ****...Oyster Sauce wrote: β February 8th, 2025, 13:21He's still spamming charts as of 4 minutes ago, it definitely didn't do as well as he had hoped. But since he had a bigger budget from Embracer, I have no doubt they expected more. Especially after all this time developing this turd.
I think the more nuanced question about double standards is why there wasn't this reaction to Baldur's Gate 3.rusty_shackleford wrote: β February 8th, 2025, 19:58It's a fair question that there's a double standard applied.
