It has been eons since I played any of those. Voted Champions because it's the one I remember more vividly.

Radiance is the one I took upon completing but I did enjoy Pools of Darkness and Krynn and want to revisit/beat 'em one day.

No, they're something else entirely. They're also 2E.

Pool of Radiance is the one I played first and the one that got me into the series, so it gets my vote.
High Priest of Esoteric Foot Fetishism
It's between Champions and Radiance for me with Radiance just edging it out as it's far less linear than Champions is.
The draconians are more interesting foes due to their various effects on death, however this was ramped up to ridiculous levels in Dark Queen which made the game a massive slog to go through if you didn't have the metaknowledge of stacking up on arrows...

I've never actually played any of the goldbox games, but I played Wizard's Crown.

The Buck Rogers games are based on the TSR Buck Rogers ruleset instead of AD&D which makes them interesting.Tweed wrote: ↑ February 17th, 2023, 02:48I've never actually played any of the goldbox games, but I played Wizard's Crown.
Still haven't played Frontiers and the Buck Rogers games. I heard the former are quite mediocre?

How do you think they compare to the Goldbox games? I think I remember reading the last Dark Sun game was bugged?rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ February 15th, 2023, 04:39No, they're something else entirely. They're also 2E.

The first one is very good & underrated, like a stepping stone between Goldbox and IE games. I've not played the second one but have been told it's rather buggy.Galdred wrote: ↑ February 19th, 2023, 15:35How do you think they compare to the Goldbox games?
