If any of you guys don't like stupid durability ****:
https://gamebanana.com/mods/49134
At first I hated the Durability crap, but the game throws so many weapons at you that it seems a shame to stick to a few weapons for its whole duration. It also drags down combat even further than vanilla.
If Link could punch, kick, grapple and throw Bokoblins, I would probably enjoy the weapon durability a little more
Link should be able to german suplex those piggers into the dirt real fast.
I'm just stating the facts.
Question is are you going to gargle the truth or swallow?

That's also what is missing from Zelda post-Twilight Princess, there is a distinct lack of creativity to anything.
Saying this while using the game that tried to be as close to a copy of Ocarina of Time as an example of creativity is camp.
Why do ******* always say that Twilight Princess is an Ocarina of Time clone?, both games are world apart in terms of visuals, tone and gameplay depth. The only thing they share in common is the design template, but even Ocarina of Time "copied" that from A Link to the Past.

Issue with that is the game makes it a moot point by giving you the master sword which is almost always the best tool for the job anyway. The game needs a REAL durability system like Morrowind/Oblivion where weapons lose effectiveness over time and then break until you repair them so if you have a moveset you prefer (swords, claymores, spears etc) you can keep your best one and just remember to maintain it.
Without the DLC, the Master Sword is a mid-weapon at best outside its regenerative capabilities. The main issue is how the Awakened boost trivializes a lot of enemies. It should have been an endgame weapon obtained only shortly before killing Calamity Ganon.

Imagine if they had some Goron teach you the basics and added Strength as one of Link's stats to spice things up. Maxing Stamina and Hearts is a bit useless in BoTW.

The Master Swords biggest asset (outside of damage boosts against Guardians) is that its unbreakable. You will never have to make the mental calculation as to whether you should use it or not. You will always have it so you are always safe to use it. My rare weapons might break so why risk them? Just use the master sword.

It runs out of batteries easily though

I've never had a single fight run long enough that it broke and most of the enemies weren't dead. You can finish them off with the various hoard of items you're carrying and the sword will be recharged by your next battle.

I'm talking about when you're fighting the highest tiers of the beefiest enemy spawns, and in TotK the mastersword is at "full strength" yet runs out after a couple of fights with the bigger enemies.

In an action game, you want to feel like the character has momentum, and that just doesn't exist if you're scampering around looking for things to thwack the enemies with because your sword needed a nap.
