The idea that genetics can give you predispositions to having certain preferences in all other aspects of life but not sexual preferences is silly. There doesn't have to be a gay gene to say a combination of genetic factors could result in/give a higher chance for same sex attraction.

Yeah, higher chances but the qualities are independent variables that will overlap with straight people, combined with environmental factors/ experiences, especially in early development.
There's also factors like the amount of hormones during gestation.
This makes it very difficult to study. There's likely too many potential reasons behind it that collectively contribute to different behaviours that are under the same umbrella.

Afaik, they out-ruled a combination of genes as well. Alphabet community was running with epigenetics for some time - some shifts during development or environmental influence, but social reasons are too common there to look for something else.

They'd be looking for a pattern that is only found in homosexuals. There are men that are born more effeminate than most other men (they tend to display cognitive leanings towards how women think), but if they're not all homosexual, it complicates the conclusions that can be drawn from it.

I know very well that during long periods of abstinence from certain material, certain clearly porn induced paraphilias disappear whilst romantic feelings towards members of the same sex do not. I already bookmarked this clip so that I can show it every time I hear someone saying that nobody chooses to be born as a degenerate.

Though I do believe it is influenced in some way before birth or something of the sort as gays have that "flowery" behavior and similar facial structure between one another, also reason why I would call these types gay and not other people. These types are also never attracted to women, and I noticed some that are "closeted gay" (gay but married for appearances and not attracted to women but doing it because of peer pressure) have those same facial features but somewhat diluted/blended away.

Being gay is learned, but there are known genetic and life history factors that make someone more likely (but not certain) to learn it. That shouldn't be surprising since it's true of a lot of other things too.
