Well here is the thing, these YouTubers don't care much for Eastern games and don't really play them. It was the Western market that was the powerhouse in gaming for all these decades and their games were the ones that got people into gaming. Point is that the Western market is on a decline and how it hasn't crashed yet is beyond me. I think a lot of these people were holding out hope that at least one Western studio would go back to the "good old days" and be the one to have a domino effect on other Western studios to clean up their act. Their faith was misplaced.

BG3 was also a fantasy game. Fantasy games tend to sell way better than historical games. Not to mention women will more likely buy a fantasy game than a historical one. Just how it is. KCD was already a niche game. Instead of just giving his audience more of what worked in the first game and improving on the stuff that needed to be improved Vavra decided to just give them the finger and tell them to **** off as he didn't want them as an audience anymore.
