This looks like they bought a bunch of different character asset packs and stuck them in one game. There's no cohesive direction in the character design other than being inoffensive to modern sensibilities.

Deadlock had a new update a few days ago. There are new heroes, though they look really out of place in this 1930s ish? setting, also the ancients got updated which is the only good looking thing in this update

From what I can see they did a lot of work since I touched the game last time a year ago. I quite like some of the soundtrack. Maybe I should give it another chance a bit later when I'll have more free time.
