Any of you guys played this? I have mixed feelings on this game but I think it's indicative that at least in principle, a videogame can be a piece of art like Eraserhead, Pi, Begotten,Tetsuo, or movies in general.
This is an "adventure" game in that recently popular PSX aesthetic that you can nonetheless just go watch on Youtube instead of playing. There are almost no choices and the actions you take are very limited. The appeal of making this a videogame is in making you do things yourself so you experience it firsthand and perceive the story as a result of your agency (even if it's illusory), unlike in movies where you're just a spectator. It's pretty short (took me less than 2 hours to complete).
The story is not that deep and the writers did not have the balls not to beat the point into the stupid gamers' skulls by force, but it has some hallmarks of something that could be called an arthouse approach to videogames. It sure is obvious that the writers are not professionals and it shows. They can't keep the narrative coherent or clear without cheap tricks. It uses surrealism heavily, most of the time it's hit or miss, it often feels gratuitous. While this is definitely not as ambitious or deep or even of the same calibre as the movies I mentioned, it fills me with hope that someone somewhere will be able to elevate videogames to the rank of art equal to literature and cinema.

Literally the only thing I know about it is that some **** on twitter went nuts because of some fanart.
What happened?
The main character Anya (the one that kinda looks like Shelly Duvall) is getting fanart with porportions more in line with coomer tastes, (Curvy, big tits, skimpy clothing) and then the terminally online ****** part of the fanbase attacks these artists to the point where they apologize for drawing her that way but one of the devs chimes in

I had no idea about any of that, and I preferred it that way. Are you usually more invested in third-hand twitter drama than the videogames the drama is about?

I don't care what you prefer what way. Stack asked, I provided the answer.

Gotta say, I really don't care about people that joined when the HQ was first created and then only have 375 posts. Why would I care about you or your opinion if you don't even really participate in the daily discussions on here?

I want to discuss a game; you post some ******** opinion from twitter that's only tangentially related because your brain is fried by a constant stream of drama and pwning libruls. You can answer yourself why people don't want to participate in the daily discussions on here.

This level of cult-like mindset would make @Nooneatall blush.

He was answering a question someone was asking, really don’t know why you’re getting so upset by it.
