My siblings and I never felt like outsiders on account of race, for me it was purely the autism. I put high functioning autism over ethnicity as far as people in my group go.

My non-euro heritage is just a point of trivia. I only have memories of the United States. My grandmother spoke a different language, I spoke to her in a rudimentary way but I've since forgotten pretty much all of it from disuse. My mother speaks with an accent, my siblings are a different shade than I am, but I grew up with them, they don't come across as out of the ordinary. It didn't occur to me until adulthood that others would perceive us together as being unusual.

I always saw that particular black male-white female thing as some form of "dominance fetish" because back then a common thing that a superior tribe did to a weaker tribe after defeating them was to take a good chunk of their women, among other things.

I found it interesting as a teenager that I received 0 guff about my heritage until I talked about it on the internet. The benefit of growing up in the southeast US where politeness is a virtue. Bit of a universal experience too; in college I attended a New Year's Eve gathering that consisted entirely of middle-class black and South Asian women, and they talked about how they themselves never experienced any racism until college, were shocked to realized for the the first time that they "weren't white." Grew up in the bubble of race-blind politeness.
