Scrap this ******** poll and do a new one, this time with actual RPGs. Probably also worth discussing whether early access games should count.

How about ******* off to the actual poll if you want something serious. This is literally just a shitpost thread. And no, early access should never count and if you allow them in your polls you are a ******.

Where's FFXI-Horizon ?
FF11 Horizon was the game I spent the most time on this year behind Granblue Fantasy Relink, but it is not a new game. It is a private server that launched in 2022 that emulates a 2004 expansion.
I'm gonna be getting on this week to level my black mage.

that's not the official poll, the actual official poll is only going to start in 2025.
The 1 year delay was established to avoid the recency bias, and also give more time for the newer games to get patched.

I shocked how many people praise Infinite wealth in saying it’s GOTY since the story is hot garbage and its nonsensical character choices only made my playing experience even worse.

I get that yakuza has it absurdities and has a habit of having some deep conspiracies/ twists that really stretches believability, but even this was to much to take even remotely seriously.

yakuza is peak weeb humor in that it's incredibly infantile and unfunny, didn't laugh once when playing yakuza 0

This is actually a good point.. I don't think I've ever laughed at someone Japanese made. :Inspector:

I never noticed that before.

I don't think I've ever laughed at Yakuza, but then again I didn't play it because it's some "infantile and unfunny weeb humor" game.

I tried playing one and couldn't get past the first hour. It felt like 5 minutes of action interrupted by 5 minutes of cutscenes before I gave up.

I liked the grounded story about the real estate consolidation and how they are murdering to get the last plot of land to complete the sales package. Tachibana was good. The QTE where Majima is fighting in a bar and the barmaid throws a heal potion and you can steal it midair was neat. I did not like the gross stuff. It also felt weird how in the sidequests, there are photorealistic characters talking, but no voice comes out. I did not enjoy the combo based action combat, I just don't have the reflexes for it.
