The only one that comes to mind (aside pretending Morrigan is a bear with no human form in Dragon Age Origins) is World of Warcraft by playing as a Hunter and taming one. Wrath of the Lich King or earlier is best in my opinion for this as it has also the feeding and arrows/ammo systems, which were removed after Cataclysm that I recall.

In The Banner Saga 2, one of the party members Erik only if he is not transferred out of the caravan heading to the capital of Arberrang can get a controllable bear companion who exceeds the 6 party member limit. Because the bear takes up 2x1 space (as opposed to the 1x1 space of a human), he is good at being a roadblock to control enemy movement/restrict the number of enemies who can attack your party members.

Warcraft 3, the β€œrpg” map where you play as the barbarian with the bear companion is the best representation of a bear pet. Theres even some cool dialogue with the bear.

Wartales lets you tame a bear. I found one in prison, I thought it was the game being lazy but the recruitment message said something along the lines of "how the hell did a bear get in here?"

Because they just don't want to be bothered to do quality control tests for each module that might be submitted. A lot of campaigns might be near-professional (or above) quality-wise, but lack enough polish to be an official release and/or use content/references/materials they might not be legally allowed to use for profit.

I think you can have a bear animal companion in Owlcat's Pathfinder games if you're a druid with the animal companion trait or a cleric with the animal domain.

I think @Tweed has played it, but I don't know if it's good

I liked it quite a bit, a blend of King's Field and roguelike. One of those kinds of games where when you figure out how to play you can start kicking ***, has several different modes that get really hard. Has masculine/feminine ******** I didn't notice before though, raked the dev over the coals about it on the codex and he claims it was to capitulate to the west. He's some azn dude. Also has FURRY and SCALIE races which is literally the human portrait with a bad fur or scale texture and cat ears or reptile eyes on it.

Why don't necromancers just use animals? A necromancer who works on a farm has access to a bunch of animals with skeletons bigger and tougher than that of a human, plus he can make money on the side. I'd be much more frightened of a 7 foot tall undead horse than a little human skeleton I can crush with one punch.
