Lol you pay someone a monthly fee just to have the opportunity to gamble for the chance to experience content
So you aren't a fan of RPG systems I see.
Give me 15 dollars and I'll give you a chance to receive a response.
No, I would rather you give it to me for free, but then provide your response in a manner where I have to earn a certain number of tokens through 1000's of hours of effort before allowing me to read it, or at least sell me the tokens for 100 bucks in a store so I can get it right away.

I had the blue protodrake that had a 2% chance to drop off the final boss of a dungeon you could only do once per day and had to compete with 4 other people for if it dropped and it made me feel special.

All you need to know about the links between gambling addiction and MMOs is that ALL the MMO companies have hired experts or consultants that previously only worked in the gambling industry.
You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

Which is odd for someone who supposedly is an "addict"

Early MMOs like EQ, early WoW, and others I found enjoyable, but modern MMOs I can't stand due to their gimmickry.

The Warcraft Direct was a pretty cringeworthy 55 minute long stream.
  • MoP Classic happening some time in 2025
  • They're going to do yet even more Vanilla servers
  • 10.1 patch zone is the underground Goblin city of Undermine. Looks like that private server that had a Goblin city with highways. Also includes a GW2-esque ground mount, a Goblin Hot Rod that can drift and travels much faster than old ground mounts.
  • Midnight will have player housing in some form (20 years late better than never eh?), no idea how it will compare to LotRO or FF14 or ESO or GW2.
  • No new patch zone for 11.2. You are paying more for less!

1. AI generated? Possible.
2. Mistake? Not likely, though with DEI hires these days, who knows.
3. *** trying to push a sexual message? Possible.

Wasn't the whole point of Classic to play WoW during the Pre-Cataclysm world? Like Retail starts during the Cataclysm if you do the racial starting zones instead of the Island Tutorial. Cata Classic kind of ruins the point right?

The pre-Cata world wasn't the only content that was removed and is unavailable to play on current retail. The WotLK Battle for the Undercity event. The MoP and WoD legendary questlines that told the second half of the expansion's main story after you finished the levelling questlines. The BFA War of Thorns event. The Shadowlands Icecrown questline. And so on. Also, because Blizzard revamps classes every expansion, old versions of classes are unavailable to play on Retail. MoP era Warlock as designed by Xelnath is widely preferred as the definitive version of WoW's Warlock and many wish it had not been destroyed by revamps, and the only way to experience it again is via classic servers. Likewise, people also preferred some old removed stuff such as vengeance tanking in MoP where the more damage you took, the more damage you dealt, making guardian druid and brewmaster monk tanks feel powerful. Or gladiator stance in WoD where a prot paladin could become a DPS role wielding a sword and shield. Etc.

The constant class revamps were one of the main issues I had with WoW tbh. Every year or two the class you played almost certainly no longer existed.

Yeah, I got really tired of that.

I quit after BC and really only came back a bit for Frozen Throne into Cata which made me want to vomit.

With the 20th anniversary event ending soon, I decided to resub to get the new mount and a few transmog armors. Wound up getting 90 bronze celebration tokens within 5 hours, and the price of the armors declines from 60 to 40 to 20 with each purchase. So I'll probably have the other two armors next week.

Image
  • It was nice to hear Jim Cummings back as Lorewalker Cho. He sounds better than he did in 8.2. Two of the three stories were recaps of book materials (The Tauren stuff in The Shattering, the Thrassian comic). It was also nice to see Reshad back, though he has no new voicelines. Might have been interesting if he had told a Draenor story we hadn't heard before. It is frustrating that you have to get the mount, you have to react 50 times during these retellings, but each retelling only happens once per hours, only gives you maybe 8 max buttons to push. So you have to log in on the hour at least six times, seeing repeats of the same story to get the mount.
  • Sadly it seems like the golden monk armor that was previewed is not available here. Hopefully it will be released soon enough.

Siren Isle
  • Reading the lore tablets, I was excited at the idea of getting to meet a brand new winged humanoid race. Then I open the door to the final chamber, and... it's yet more Valkyr. :(
  • I was disappointed by how easy the Siren Isle was. I could mass pull mobs and never die and the bosses were burned down within one minute. The so-called hard mode phase, the Storm phase, was little better, never died in there. Maybe I am spoiled by playing FF11 Horizon lately, where you can walk behind mobs and they won't aggro (tried doing that here and they aggroed), where mobs are so dangerous that you need to prepare to avoid/kite them with invisibility potions and/or stuns.

Troll tusks are really weird.
They either come from the cheek like this

Or from the upper jaw right behind the canine teeth

This is only on male trolls, female ones always have them replacing their bottom canines

Cherished memory of putting together a Santa outfit for sitting on Nef's throne after beating him. Spent a couple hours buying thousands of snowballs and mailing hundreds to each raid member too.
