Episode 12: Prison Architect
The heroes who bravely conquered the village of probable-cultists return home safely. Rusty has some grey in his hair now. We have been here for six years so it's to be expected.

Elias spends hard earned Turtle Coins to gain the Tough trait.

Captain spends a Turtle Coin to acquire a pet wiggleneck turtle. He can name it if he wants.

Boot cashes some in to ambush Zoth when he steps through the front door, shattering his jaw permanently. **** move.

Chuck finished our first FN FAL.

Oscar gets his heart swapped out for one of the ones donated by a prisoner. There's some organ rejection that'll need to be managed it seems. Might be an ongoing problem until we get more advanced tech.

A trio of Gallatrosses show up. We've got pretty decent weaponry now so we might as well try to hunt them

Boon uses his speedboost power to bait them back to our firing line.

We learn that they can hurl boulders and lose a turret as a result.

We're stinging them with hundreds of bullets trying to bring them down. They have crazy regeneration so constant fire is required even once they collapse or else they'll get up within seconds.

We forgot to lock the bots inside and a boulder thrown at one of them lands in the chicken pen, exploding and taking out at least half a dozen birds.

Boon runs out and delivers the finishing blows once they're all pacified.

Tons of meat, super tough leather, and valuable horns are our rewards. Plus a bunch of shooting experience. @Captain can shoot to specialize in sharpshooting, aiming, or reloading.

And then we celebrate Christmas in the morning!

A wounded saurid from an enemy faction crash lands in a transport pod and we capture her.

We get a mending station that'll allow us to finally repair tattered clothing and armor instead of selling it or melting it down.

Still need to deal with this hive at some point. We go for the Archotech eye reward.

A drug lab is set up and Boot gets to work making antibiotics.

Now that we have so many chickens, we set an upper limit on roosters and start slaughtering the excess.

Vitya gets his PKM.

And Elias gets his Hécate II.

More saurids arrive to free the prisoner we took.

But a clumped up group of idiots charging without cover is the perfect trial for the PKM. The greed arrows indicate suppression, which causes enemies to seek cover and if it builds up enough they'll go prone and refuse to fire back.

Even so, enemies are starting to show up with decent armor and make it across the river.

But it's still not enough.

All of the loot we took from their bodies checks off some "become rich" aspirations.

We take plenty of them alive. We'll come back to them later.

Little prisoner baby slave Whiteshark becomes a toddler and starts learning to crawl around on her own.

We get the opportunity to force a sanguophage ship to crash land.

And the vampire is successfully captured, along with some of her thralls.

This is the time of sanguophage we captured. We can force her to pass her xenogerms onto one of us, killing her in the process. @Elias and Captain both aspire to become a sanguophage, so they can decide who gets it if they're still interested.

With so many prisoners, it only feels right to set up a dueling ring. We can toss some weapons in here and make them fight for entertainment. Fights are more exciting when weapons are used or someone is killed.

Here's who we have locked up right now.

@Oyster Sauce Since he's a crafter, Chuck wants Kimberlee Carpino to join him as an indentured servant, and work as an artist/ researcher under his guidance.

It's probably a result of a ****** up clipboard exchange. Modern Windowses (past 7) tend to do this, especially if you put many items in clipboard or do it fast. Your Rimworld had probably tried to put too many things in a clipboard and made some permaloop.Oyster Sauce wrote: ↑ December 23rd, 2024, 14:10Oyster Sauce wrote: ↑ December 23rd, 2024, 14:07Somehow generated a 345GB text file playing Rimworld. I see you don't consider getting an implant as a "Gain positive trait - 3". Welp.
Romance option still stands. So what if Black Dog can't speak? He's going to gurgle very suggestively.

Episode 13: Prison Break
The time has come.

Boot beats the captive vampire into submission.

Then Elias forces her to bite him or however it works, transforming himself into a sanguophage.

Some ups and downs. Notably this type of vampire feeds from the blood of corpses. He can share with the wolves.

Some time later the prisoners stage a breakout.

Luckily they're unarmed so we can just pummel them a bit.

Ok wait nevermind they got into the rocket launchers we were storing directly across from the prison.

And the dynamite. Authorizing lethal force.

A careless dynamite toss kills a prisoner and wounds another.

Zoth was separated, overwhelmed, and had his rifle and molotovs stolen.

Fires are started and grenades are whipped around the hall.

But eventually order is restored and the wounded and most of the wounded prisoners survive.

And then a couple dozen rabid manhunting bears show up.

Our crops have been thoroughly watered.

A quick feast to celebrate before heading out to deal with that niggling insect hive.

It's actually a bit smaller than the last one and we're rocking much heavier firepower.

Our starving turtles desperately feed on the rotting bear carcasses and throw up all over the place.

A familiar rumbling from underneath our hospital.

Boon sprints in to grab Techno.

Most of our fighters still need to rearm and eat after the last battle so we're kind of unprepared for this. Boot prepares to hold the doorway alone.

Some claws are making it through his armor and manage to sever a leg, so Stack desperately breathes fire into the room to try to cook the bugs.

The fire heats up the room very quickly. More fighters are gathering down the hall.

Elias gets chopped up a bit, good thing he's functionally immortal. The second hive is dealt with more easily.

The burns and smoke inhalation from putting out the hospital fire are brutal though. Everybody gets badly messed up and a few nearly die.

With the fire extinguished, a temporary burn ward is set up in the dining room.

And life goes on.

Now that we have a spare moment, Vitya gets the archotech eye we received as a reward for taking out the hive.

He can now see way better than anyone else.

Captain forcibly extracts the sanguophage's xenogerm. It takes a full year for it to regrow, and kills if the extracted target if done again too soon. He was the only guy aside from Elias who wanted it though, so oh well.

We're up to 63 ******* turtles breeding uncontrollably outside.

Some refugees come begging for thousands of silver to pay off a ransom. We've got tons taking up space so Stack spends the entire day hauling it out to them.

Another prison break attempt, this time Boon was nearby with a railgun so they don't get very far. One of them smuggled that ******* rocket launcher inside somehow. We should probably lock the weapons up somewhere at some point.

Expanded the kitchen to make room for extra appliances and added a throughfare. Vitya figured out how to have two militor robots accompany him at all times.

BD successfully enslaves Kimberlee at Chuck's behest.

And then we find out slaves won't do work related to art or research. Whoops. No refunds.

BD also has spoiled seed.

Boot gets a prosthetic leg, which we can now make. Stack refuses and keeps his peg leg due to some form of autism. He wants to regrow a real leg somehow.

Lil' Whiteshark doodling in her room.

We've planted a ton of devilstrand mushrooms. We can get the finest growable fibers from them for clothing. It's tough and heat resistant.

Freezer expansion with additional doorways. It was almost full last year and a few things spoiled.

A bionics and warcasket lab has been established.

Bionic limbs and parts are superior to natural ones, but they're not cheap to produce.

Warcaskets are essentially hulking suits of Space Marine armor. They're super tough and can wield special heavy weaponry. The catch is that you have to be entombed in them, wiring your nervous system directly into the armor. Once inside you're incapable of doing anything but combat, no more work, and it's basically permanent. Any volunteers? You can even customize the color of the helmet, shoulders, and torso.
