What does an AI game studio even mean? That they are going to spend a laborious amount of time generating AI images and code and trying to clean it up to work, when they could have just done it better themselves from the get go in less time?

I think this was Musk making fun of the AAA game studios by pointing out the fact that modern devs are so **** that AI could easily surpass anything they make.

Probably getting it from the steamworks API
would strongly suggest using a different country if you live in somewhere like Germany as they heavily censor video games to begin with e.g., I'd imagine it's easy to fake being in Netherlands or Denmark as they probably share banking stuff?

Ah, time to play my BASED ANTI-WOKE WW2 simulator recommended by my good friend @gerey
https://panzercorps.fandom.com/wiki/Und ... ocation_CZ
Mein General, as part of the expansion of the war effort, a somewhat controversial proposal has been put forward. To ease some demand for manpower, it has been proposed that Germany expand the Wehrmachthelferinnen. Our female auxiliaries would begin to be deployed to supporting units, mostly air defense and artillery detachments.

I do not know how you feel about this inclusion of women, but my personal experiences in Spain have shown me that female soldiers of merit are a force to be reckoned with.

If you choose to throw your support behind this new initiative, High Command will undoubtedly use us to test the feasibility of female auxiliaries before deciding whether or not to expand the program further.

You have %d Commendation Points.

Would you like to exchange 3 Commendation Points for a unique female officer?

Former Intel guy has remorse over the industry's reaction to gamergate (but not too much)

i don't understand how game developers and game journalism got so ideologically captured

gamers have always been trolls, anti-greedy corporations, anti-bs

gamers have always rejected dumb manipulative bs, and can tell when someone is an outsider poser

why lean into the bs?
It all started back in 2014 with Gamergate and the harassment of women in gaming. Even we (Intel) went out of our way to try and over compensate
yeah - harassment was stupid

if you zoom into OG gamergate though, there are no good guys

Someone has to push the tech

Starlink brought about viable options for high speed internet in rural locations which providers purposefully refused to develop for (or continue existing basic line support). AT&T started screwing rural locations by shutting down telco lines in many rural locations claiming that "wireless" replaced them, but the reality is that many of those areas didn't work for wireless and shutting down the existing lines not only removed internet, but took away even basic voice communication.

Many people went from standard low speed DSL (3mbs connections) and phone, to nothing and AT&T would lie about it claiming they had tower coverage in those areas (which didn't work and were multiple times the cost of the hard lines).

Musks solution provided inner-city speeds/latency in places that these providers were non-existent and the cost is very practical.

The whole US industry is in complete stagnation and has turned into gimmicks milking people for tech that is far behind the development curve.

So if Musk wants to start getting into all these areas, it can only help.

German 40K Space Crusade was heavily censored, with a new name omitting Crusade, and gun descriptions not killing people but teleporting them away.

Why is the main character a girlboss instead of Rohan?
I was actually considering it until I realized the main character is some donut steel OC woman instead of Rohan.

Couldn't remember if I was forgetting someone so I asked chatgpt:

They wanted to tell Lem's story from a fresh perspective to be as widely accessible as possible. Starting with a different character gives longtime fans of Lem something new to enjoy, while those who have never read Lem's novel do not need to worry about not having read the original book. Even more important, however, was Starward Industries' desire to avoid misrepresenting Rohan:

"We also didn't want to translate Lem's character Rohan directly into the language of the game, precisely because we know how significant the character is to readers, and the gaming medium comes with its own opportunities and limitations."

If Rohan was portrayed faithfully to the book, players might feel like their autonomy in the game would be at odds with the character's authenticity in the book. Deviating from Rohan's actions in the novel might make the game feel like fan fiction. Worse yet, watering down Rohan's personality to make him more broadly accessible as a POV character—or turning him into a silent or semi-silent protagonist—would be a disservice to readers' memories.

I have to admit, I did not read "The Invincible" so I cannot say my piece about it but I do have the game and can report back, I guess?

Yes, that much is obvious. They just came up with this in order to not get **** on for shoehorning in women.
Might not even want to play the game after this discovery.
