If it makes you feel any better I have no strong opinion on 40k, I just had a flash of divine inspiration.

Yeah, and I'm not sure Word Bearers will get any love, since Lorgar's dead, and they want a showdown between primarchs.

No, Lorgar wasn't killed. Which traitor did Guilliman kill after he woke up?

I think Guilliman fought - and killed, I believe - Mortarion, but I'm not 100% sure since it seems it was more a God-Emperor vs Nurgle fight at the end.

And yeah Lorgar is indeed alive, we know that cuz Corvus tried but failed to kill him, and there's a current meme that Lorgar hasn't shown up recently because he's scared shitless of Daemon Corvus finding him and ripping him a new *******. lol

No, Mortarion is still alive.

Guilliman was losing, then he was "possessed" by the Emperor, who curb stomped Morti like a ***** and sent him back to Nurgle.

And then, he set fire to Nurgle's garden while he was at it.

He didn't possess Gulliman IIRC, the Emperor possessed one of His living saints to channel His power in the Materium, and didn't just scare Mortarion shitless, but Nurgle too.

Pretty sure you are confusing two different battles in the same war.

The "saint" girl story is the battle of Parmenio in Plague War. Mortarion fled that battle.

The battle I'm talking about is the next one, on Iax, in Godblight.

The confusion might come from the fact that Games Workshop realised they messed up the timeline (they didn't give themselves enough room to tell the stories they wanted to tell) so they released new novels about the plague war in Ultramar (in 2021 ? I think) and those novels render the previous books about that war non-canon.

Yeah, they really know what the're doing.

That never happened. It was just a baseless rumor started by the cultists of Tzeentch to smear the honored Malcador.

Graham McNeill is a cultist of Tzeentch? He's a very ******** one then, his plots within plots are always ****.

I like this idea.

Is there a story behind this? Not sure who the enemies are (the mech people?) and why the shot lingers on the statue. Anyone fancy giving me a QRD?

It looks like it's just a tech demo/proof of concept. I must say the musical score is absolutely awful.

The Space Marines are Deathwatch, a group that is formed from the elite SMs of every other Chapter (that's why each has a different insignia on their pauldrons). They're seconded directly to the Inquisition (40K's Inquisition is Torquemada's wet dream, has near limitless power and scope of authority on paper) to combat xenos threats.

The machines are Necrons - Space Egyptian Tomb Kings. The big one is maybe a Canoptek or Skorpekh? Either way, one of the elite badasses of the Necrons.

The statue is Roboute Guilliman, one of the newly-living Primarchs. The long camera shot on it is probably just useless fluff/fanservice.

Ah thank you. I thought there might be some background lore to explain where they are and why they're there. I think they should've shown one of the guys at the start easily getting smooshed by a Necro to show how much stronger the Space Marines are.

Looks like the have Amazon Warhammer live action TV series is moving forward. I expect the worst and more canon retconing turn up to 11.

I watched the Amazon Secret Level WH40K episode. It was nicely done and gave the Space Marines some weight but could easily be mistaken for a cutscene from a game.
The story is supposed to be set after the Space Marine 2 game so you probably have to play that to know what's going on. If, like me, you haven't played the game then the 15 minute fight scene is enjoyable enough to watch.
As I'm not that familiar with 40K lore, I can't some up how much heresy the episode contains.

You don't have to play the games. The only tie is that the main character of the game, Titus, appears on the short. He is the one with the imperial laurels on his helmet. He gets this badge of honor at the end of the Space Marine 2 campaign.

The other characters do not appear on the games and the episode has minimum dialogue so it is a good standalone short. I really liked it. I would also recommend the indie short on Youtube called "Astartes":

Now, I am one of those purists that everything starts to go to **** around 5th edition and that everything after 7th edition is non-canon for me. I hate the ******** "Primaris" and everything they represent. No, the God Emperor of Mankind did not have a girl boss wife that was actually the real mastermind behind the curtain. No, the Necrons don't have bri'ish accents and didn't rebel. And of course, there are no ******* female Custodes.

But, the Space Marine 2 game is fun and the story is alright although it has wokeness in it, just not at Veilguard levels and there some **** that is not really lore accurate but it's an OK game that has some clear passion from the devs like the way stuff looks and how the witchcraft sigils appear when you move and stop when you stand still. Little details here and there that demonstrate that someone at Saber really likes 40K but they got saddled with ***** writers that forced ******** and lore inaccuracies.

Cavill as Exec Producer could mean that it has a chance to not be an absolute dogshit wokevomit of a show. He is a fan of 40K and was reportedly a "diva" on the set of the Witcher because he kept giving the writers and directors **** due to how much the show deviated from the source material.

From what I read, he is a showrunner for the 40K Amazon series in everything but name. Now, I don't know him personally, of course, so I wouldn't go to bat for him but he has clearly stated to be on the side of the fans and the nerdy stuff he likes to the detriment of his Hollywood career so I will give the man a chance to make this right.

This is essentially his hail mary. If the series is ****, he will lose the good will that he has garnered with the fans from different nerdy hobbies like comics, videogames and 40K. If he nails it, then he will ascend as the God of Emperor of the Nerds that refused to compromise and finally showed Hollywood why you must stand by the fandom when trying to sell them a product.

But, we shall see. If anyone can make 40K great again, he is the one that has an actual fighting chance.

If that's true, it's meaningless since no one accepted them as canon anyways it only means they will wait a few more years and see what happens. The fact is they still tried to pull this stunt.

At least someone at GW cares about money and told the ****** to cool it for a minute. This is why Cavill's series being lore accurate and without wokeness is so important. If that happens and the series is a success it will show the big wigs that "if you built it, they will come". The problem is that most likely it will have to involve the new fan fiction **** like Primaris at the very least.

Essentially, 40K needs what Deadpool did to superhero movies. I only watched the 1st one but the idea that Ryan Reynolds convinced the execs to let it be lore accurate with the costumes and also rated R was proof that not every superhero movie has to be Guardians of the Galaxy. He did it again with the last one giving fans tons of fan service with all the cameos, finally putting Wolverine in the suit with the mask and giving the fans a comic accurate Gambit.

GW is still too pozzed. It will never change unless the big wigs that actually care about their bottom line force the ******* and ****** out and bring in people that are in the business of making minis and making money.
