I think you have a really skewed view of how product marketing is done at this level, roguey.

I'm regularly in contact with PR teams for game keys, I've talked with an actual developer maybe once or twice. And these are studios (mostly) nowhere near the size of Microsoft studios.
Publishers have entire departments dedicated to handling this stuff. If anything, marketing is going to see that and freak out because of the reach someone like Elon has.

He probably just cost them hundreds of thousands if not millions of sales.
