Dark Forces 2, some bad aliasing at the distance I can't seem to fix. Might try playing it at 4k in gamescope and downscaling. I'm playing it using the sourceport OpenJKDF2: https://github.com/shinyquagsire23/OpenJKDF2 It's a line-by-line reimplementation using reverse engineering.

Began using an AI upscaled texture pack, eventually decided I didn't like it.

Indeed. Even if it's not huge accurate to History, it's a **** sight closer than most other games.

DA2+ Armour is putrid, comparatively.

If you care about armor, one of the better recent games I've played for it is King Arthur: A Knight's Tale.
The only exception is actually the main character, who has very fantasy-esque armor.
