Path of Exile 2 - RELEASED INTO EARLY ACCESS! PAY 30 USD, PLAY FOR FREE!!!

Post by Eyestabber »

We’re at Brasil Game Show where attendees can try out Path of Exile 2. To make our first time here special for our players, we asked our Brazilian developers to tell us about the work they’ve been doing for Path of Exile 2. Check out the video below!

As the video is in Portuguese, we’ve included subtitles so you can still enjoy the insights!

https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3581239

Feel free to merge if there's already a thread for PoE 2. Anyway, they announced a livestream will happen "soon" where they will reveal how much a beta invite will cost.

Looking forward to this tbh. Though I am kinda busy with Vessel of Hatred right now since my brother kinda convinced me to get it.

Funny I thought this was going to release this summer from what I remembered, I hadn't been following it and assumed it had probably been out for months now. Foolish of me to expect Western game dev to release anything on time. Of course this is early access, not an actual release, but I don't know what to make of that. Seems bad they are even doing it, I thought there was going to be a beta but not an early access. This probably gives streamer clowns a lot more influence on the game's direction depending on what they think of it, plus it encourages people to play early to get ahead of others in gameplay experience rather than wait for a polished product at release.

What is the verdict on how this looks? Is it going to be a zoom-zoom-zoomer gambling simulation designed for streamers and "influencers" like PoE became, meant for the brain rot generation that wants to spend a minute clearing maps and seeing if they get epic loot? Or is it going to be back to the basics and slowed down to actually have gameplay, like I remember the original plan being? I had a lot of fun in the brief time I played PoE, but I gave it a try after it was already in decline and it got substantially worse right after I started playing. Game became worse the more you played until it just made me long for D1 and early or modded D2.

They did a beta where only whales (people with over 500 USD worth of money spent in PoE), some high profile streamers and a few lucky randoms got invited. It's been going on since June and is currently the only way to play PoE 2.

The latter. Just look at the vast amounts of gameplay footage currently available. The time to kill both bosses and regular mobs is vastly increased, as well as the amount of options in combat. People on TFT Discord are not impressed, precisely because they think the game looks "too slow". Devs stated on numerous occasions their intention to cut back on "zoom zoom gameplay". However, I do take that with a grain of salt because all beta footage comes from prebuilt characters that are (probably) intentionally gimped. At this point we don't know what actual builds will look like in PoE 2.

Explains why I thought it was out already, guess the pipeline is Beta -> Early Access -> Release now. They should've extended it further and done a public Alpha for 1000 USD to torture more whales and make them work QA for free so I can enjoy more bug free game when it's finally out. That's all surprisingly optimistic sounding, a 500 USD beta to harpoon whales and make them suffer slow gameplay and prebuilt characters is based.
Here's hoping they stick to it no matter what my fellow Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne fans think. I didn't consider if they do, this game will be even more enjoyable when it's out from seeing all those players who helped ruin PoE1 suffer. :bounce:

I don't mind the delay, at least they are very transparent as to why and the dude acknowledges it's his fault.

Game will still be in Early Access right ? Might aswell get something as clean as possible.

I hope to God that POE2 will stay slow. Let the zoom zoom **** play the first Exile.

I started playing POE and it was really fun. Much better than Diablo 4. The graphics are somehow better too. The only complaint I have is the server lag. I got the EA for POE 2 and I'll let everyone know if it's good on Dec 6th.

Same here my *****. Actually started to play POE after what seems like an eternity and I'm actually having fun. Sure, I'm just using smite but it sure is fun. Got the Faridun Pack since everything I saw so far is exactly what I want.

I'll wait a while to play it but when I do I'm going all-in. POE is the game I have the most playtime with besides good ol' Dark Souls.

Attention fellow third worlders! Steam regional pricing of packs and other stuff straight up disappeared for some countries. If you still have it, better buy the EA key ASAP. I got my PoE 2 Key for 79,80 HB, way bellow 30 USD.
