I've been laying that bait for weeks hoping a resident conservatard semitic would pick up on it.
How does it feel to be the first one to not be able to contain yourself, you joyless and miserable boy?

Sure, the same ***. Bothering to have two completely different artstyles for no reason. The mental gymnastics you do sure are something.
Take it easy there, googlefag, you might depose Vergil as the most perpetually butthurt. I'm not sure he's big on usurpation, no matter how much you tongue his anus. :toot:

Chapter 11: Blood Moon Rising

Wolfie arrives as promised, along with her personal bodyguard Iren.

Image
ImageImage

Seems like lizardmen were hot in their tail though. Two squads of 7 slink towards us. We form two teams in kind. Mathieu has a doctor's note and won't be participating in this one. It's a bit chilly with the volcanic winter so everybody takes over buildings to wait.

Image

Image
Image

Iren claims the first enemy with a savage axe blow that cracks his skull and destroys both of his eyes. This is why helmets are important!

Image

Lance displays his expertise by stabbing this idiot in the head.

Image

William takes a head on the north side.

Image

Image

Vitya just ******* destroys this guy.

Image

Hoss makes a very risky shot that takes out William's opponent for him. Skull Smasher and Oscar split off to chase down two liggers who snuck by. Vergil wins his duel without a scratch.

Image
Image
Image
Image

While looting, Elias finds a unmarked bottle containing a strange liquid and pockets it. Overall, a few of us were cut up but nobody came close to dying except Bonecrusher. Does Skull Smasher even want to keep bringing him into battle?

Image

After resting up, Vitya forges helmets while Iren smelts ore into ingots. We have a ton of ore thanks to Boontaker, but people have been slacking on getting it smelted.

Image

The kids show up to watch them work and generally be annoying. Nearby, Acrux is fat.

Image

The blood moon is upon us - vampire blood pools will drain faster, and if it goes under half they can lose control of themselves and start attacking others for blood. Luckily, Vergil has plenty of people willing to offer theirs up. Wolfie is a special kind of vampire that can melt people with toxins, but can only drain blood from corpses - which we just procured quite a few of.

Image

A wild nightstalker starts hunting Boontaker, who's doing some pretty remote mining.

Image

It's a good thing William was disposing of bodies nearby and Elias was out hunting. Their armor makes sure they only get bruised instead of scratched.

Image

A drifter comes by, looking to talk. Lance, our self-proclaimed captain of the guard rides out to meet him. He has a proposal.

Image
Image
Image

At that same moment - Elias, a bit woozy from being fed on, accidentally drinks from the mysterious bottle he picked up earlier and immediately passes out.

Cutting this short because our lord needs to wake up and address this stranger. @Irenaeus can specialize in scoring critical hits in melee or swinging his weapon more quickly. Anyone can offer suggestions on what we should be focusing on. Now that we have more craftsmen cutting stones into bricks it might be worth thinking about converting our wooden buildings into stone. Bad things would happen if a fire sprang up. Alternatively, a wall with embrasures surrounding our territory would give us the advantage when being raided and we wouldn't have to fight in open fields anymore.

If you're not gonna build a castle in Medieval Rimworld, I don't know why you're even playing the game.

You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

Here's the difference between the two types of vampires we have among us by the way. Vergil's kind on the left, Wolfie's on the right.

But do you mean that in terms of "We should start making our buildings into stone, like a stone castle" or "We should start building a wall, like castles have".

I'd argue that we already have a castle of sorts, albeit so far mostly out of wood, and that we should build a wall first, and then modernize from the inside out, resources and time permitting. So wooden walls->central stone structures->periphery stone structures->stone walls. And then after that, perhaps start to connect most structures. In medieval fashion, we should also not discount the norm of using existing structures as part of the walls, which would save time and resources; by the time we get around to "modernizing" our walls, we might only need to wall comparatively small sections at all.

Having played Rimworld and knowing how quickly a small fire can end your game, I would suggest converting the most important buildings into stone and then focussing on the wall. If there is a fire though, there are quite a lot of people to contain it.

Also, happy to retire Bonecrusher if he is of no use in battle anymore. I'm guessing the missing paw affects movement speed. Is anything else affected?

Is vampirism is a condition or a species? Also, I agree we really need some kind of a fortress at this rate or eventually we're going to get smeared, we've had a load of close calls. Every other minute something is coming along to try and make dinner out of one of the colonists.

I completely bow to experience. Having never played Rimworld, I have no idea how big of a threat fire actually is.

how medieval are the building options?
daub and wattle was relatively fire resistant, the scenes of just putting a torch to a medieval-esque building and it going right up is another widespread creative liberty.

Yeah, but I expect that that level isn't really present. I'd be surprised if it's not just "wood", "stone", etc. :scratch-pipe:
