only the first page. Now had time for the rest. Yeah dont really see why u ask. There was no definitive proof yet that other languages take the english version as a base. But yeah that would be quite bad.

The devs behind Persona should either go full fantasy or make the next persona with older protagonists, maybe some salarymen and women or **** like that.
Etrian Odyssey (Metaphor was rumored to be repurposed EO Next designs in the P5 engine) and SMT then.
It's funny because the red elf character was initially a sneak peek that was included as a DLC portrait in EO:Nexus. Atlus promised there would be more news revealed soon yet it took them 6+ years to actually show anything worthwhile. Metaphor used to be called Project Re-Fantasy: A Fools Journey begins but not much is known besides that.

This is a comparison between the sneak peek and the official release art. Personally, I much rather prefer the design and artstyle of the concept art. The reasons I prefer the concept art are because the suit of armor is more appealing and makes more sense compared to the strange suit jumpsuit (especially the square shoulder part), the hair on the left fits the design better, and the left design's elf ears look more natural.
Japs going out of their way to make their art arr rook same is very funny on a meta level
Thank you for your attention to this matter!

So is anyone actually playing this, and if so is it too pozzed to tolerate? The screens are bad but those are a few lines pulled out of thousands in the game, and it's a long jrpg so they might twist it later.

I've recently been playing this. Have roughly 8 hours so far in it and it's...tolerable. I highly recommend playing with the Japanese audio and english subtitles over the english dub. I have no idea what happened between persona 5 royal and this game but the dub is very poor in comparison. Most of the guys in this game look like twinks and femboys and the main antagonist is another "totally not griffith" which for some reason appears to be a trend now in japan. Now from what I understand according to someone I know further ahead of me there are based moments later on.

I know there's no romance like how it's done in the persona games. As for if there's any romance baked into the narrative I have yet to get that far.

Okay so like I said there's no dedicated romance system like persona games but there's still a possibility for it to be a part of the plot/decision to make like Persona 2.

Well, I'll be on the lookout for that. It would make sense that romance is a part of the story since the MC is trying to become the King, and a King should have a Queen by his side.

I'll just ship random characters together, write weird fetish fan fiction, and then get mad when the devs say everyone was straight and normal.

It's a jrpg (derogatory) and the plot beats you over the head with racism bad. It also has girlbosses.
The girlbosses part is probably just localization based on what I saw over at varishangout:

Image
Holy ****...I used to be on the fence about AI replacing localizers, but at this point I'm a full SkyNet supporter now.
I am highly disgusted. This is pure art vandalism. I hate these localizers with such a passion. Nowhere it would be acceptable to ruin the writing of a work, whether in a film or a book, but when it comes to video games or anime it seems like nobody cares.

I don't even feel like playing recent JRPGs because of this so I've been replaying the same old ones... :notsureif:

I finally beat the game. It took roughly 55-60 hours, give or take. Overall, if I were to score it, it would be between a 7.5 and 8 out of 10. It's pretty much just a shonen story wise...power of friendship and all that. It does have some based moments. Things like race realism and the church is not le bad? But I can't help but shake the feeling there's this more insidious underlying message that's meant to appeal to American left-leaning politics such as "diversity is our strength", being more tolerant (it's literally a stat) etc. You'll mostly get your moneys worth; I tend to factor a playtime to cost ratio when I consider how good a game is and for a $70 game ($10 to much) it got close to that which most games these days fail to do so. Also ridiculous storage size for a game with PS3 era graphics. Technically no black people which is always a plus. I know japanese people are weird with skin tones but not a single character or npc had those really ugly facial proportions so I'll give the devs that.

Despite the great sales numbers I noticed a lack of social media presence for the game compared to previous persona games of 3,4,5 and would go as far to say that SMT 5 got more buzz. Mind you I don’t have hard data to prove this but that’s the feeling I get from Metaphor: ReFantazio.

I agree and having played it I think the reason why is simply there isn't anything to grab on to. With Persona games its the story or endless arguing over "best girl". With SMT it has its following for the gameplay primarily. Metaphor does not have any romances so no waifu debates, the gameplay is fine but easy while SMT can be notoriously ******** if you aren't familiar with the usual gimmicks atlus uses to **** you. Besides blatantly ripping off Bosch for enemy design there wasn't anything that stuck out to me as memorable.
