I always get this game mixed up with Front Mission then I look at this and figure out it is just like those games in the arcade but a little more. I do believe I played one of the original ones on the playstation come to think of it. Maybe one of the bros bought it.

It's as if I've played every single one of these titles second hand with how often Zoomers gush over it, like it's God's gift to gaming. It's not even From that's exclusively making them, there are dozens upon dozens of indie knockoffs that are all trying to cash in on it.

Is this the best Japan has to offer nowadays?, just one type of game that was never even good to begin with?.

I am sick of people hopping onto the fad and doing it poorly. Instead of doing new things they just keep making minor improvements on the genre which means "oh boy now you dodge instead of roll" which makes me roll my eyes and dodge the game entirely. At this point it will be the Yakuza of Jap game series - fifty remakes and then a turn based spinoff.

On one hand we can make a new game, on the other hand we can make a subgenre that we milk for 20 years.

On one hand we can make the game run better and faster, on the other hand we can draw more paralax fractals in the background on things you're not even paying attention to so we can fund the lithium mine in niggeria.

I haven't bought a game in a few years. There is nothing interesting out there for me, but you don't hear me whining like a two year old or an adult princess about they're sick of x. When your balls drop and you become a man then you will no longer complain about x.

The only reason I would upgrade anything is for new UI, like flight sims or VR Rainbow shix. Everything else in game development is in the hands of developers deciding the ratio of smelling their own farts and touching grass.

This is so brilliant. Seriously. it's 24 years old. It looks better than 95% of **** out there. Plays better than 99% of **** out there. How? Why?

Mostly nostalgia. Mostly because the genre never moved forward.

No, because QUAKE3 is **** compared to UT99. UT2003 is **** compared to UT99. Just like Armored Core 6 will be **** compared to UT99.

I never liked Quake 3 but I do know that Quake 1 multiplayer is still fine and it does not look like a cartoon. I liked UT2003 but that was because I played it on a LAN in Iraq on my modded Xbox. We annihilated some dudes so bad they never played games with us again. I took them on three against one and still prevailed. I heard nothing but crying from the other room.

This was pretty good. The fact that it was made by From Software means we are going to see Darksouls crap in the new Armored Core game. I hope the game is still like this. It would be fun to play Unreal Tournament 99 but with customizable mechs instead of Dark Souls with Transexual Gundam wings.

I like this: you die, you can go directly to tje garage and change your mech's loadout. Those are good fps mechanics.

Used to be one of my favorite games, and the aesthetics have aged very well. In fact most Unreal Engine 1 games still look good today. How far things have fallen since then...
