Well I reckon that his number of money supporters is not gonna increase much, I think that it's more like the patreons - or whatchacall that site he uses - he already has are now gonna have a say in what games are shown on his website. And anyone else who joins will also have a say too.

I feel like he could just create 10-minute YouTube videos where he updates his lists and makes a few comments. Place ad rolls at the beginning, middle, and end. And, there! He has a source of income that doesn't require paypiggies. If he needs to use Patreon, just call it what it is: a tip jar. Don't sugarcoat it or talk about it like you're offering a service anyone else could offer. Just be like, "It's there if you wanna donate" and leave it at that.

I’m guessing he doesn’t want to rely on a digital tip jar because the revenue generated is low and infrequent. Putting more community features out for patreon incentives people to put money to it. I should add YouTube Ad program pays very little and is a big reason why you see a lot of YouTubers go for sponsorship deals to pay the bills.


It’s the unfortunate reality of being a content creator as job instead of hobby.
