Any of you managed to save Malavon's slaves? I tried power word silence, spiritual lock, teleportation field, but they keep casting Cloudkill and instant kill all slaves
Malavon in my game just about killed himself with his own spells and majority of the slaves were still alive but they did not have any new dialogue and remained there. Same with the rest of Dorn's Deep, the one you can give food to and another in the forge have dialogue (plus the gem cutter in his home) but they all remain in their place and don't return to their camp. I was also trying to find the son of the father who was building the statue, but to no avail and he remained there.
Uh, his son should be standing right next to him. There's no quest or anything about them, except for kiling all the myconids around them.

My dual fighters are so close to suddenly remembering how to swing swords it's killing me, almost literally. At least I got improved haste, that's gone a long way towards letting the C/R cut into the damned drowned deads, spongy bastards. The real problem with these guys is that unlike most other enemies in IWD they love to switch targets, especially to party members and no matter how much AC you pile on they land blows and cleric boy doesn't have iron skins yet so he always takes a few on the chin. Forgot how irritating those wailing ******* are too, but the other improved haste goes to the archer and she can shut them down very fast.

We made it to the Tiers of the Dead and are about to start hunting the lich.

I'm hoping the necromancer puts up as good a fight as the drow ambush battle at the bridge just before this. That was a pretty fun encounter. Wasn't expecting the magic immunity on the drow that rushed across the bridge and the sudden flanking of the party by spiders.

I have not checked for Icewind Dale's main campaign, but for the DLC if you go to your character's information and check the biography it is not whatever was written but the default biography from the first Baldur's Gate (the story for Gorion's Ward etc). Is it a thing that EE introduced?

I will always love Baeloth as a character, but the more I learn of Beamdog, the more ridiculous it becomes. To **** up a game such as this feels incredibly disrespectful.

Edit:
By the way, I found a fix, sort of. The biography, once bugged, makes you lose the one, if any, you wrote, so it cannot to my knowledge be restored unfortunatly, but it can be re-wrote by going onto the character screen once in-game and then selecting "Customize" on the right. It will take you to a list of things where the biography is one of the possible options. Just remember to click on Done before exiting because it will not save the changes otherwise. And also, yes, from my research while looking for a fix it was Enhanced Edition (Beamdog) that made this bug appear, and there seems to be no fix.

I mean I started Hearts of Winter via the Main Menu and imported my party only to notice that my Paladin (after he died and I resurrected him) is now a Fighter / Mage / Cleric which now has made him unable to use his 2-handed sword since that is not useable by CLERICS AND MAGES AND ESPECIALLY THE 3 CLASS COMBINATION THIS GAY EE GAVE ME.

Remorhaz are cute and cuddly wuddly compared to the drowned dead and far easier to kill despite being able to kill party members in one or two hits if they use their fire attack. They're nothing against the almighty shambling mound though.

I wish the plot was a bit stronger for this one but I still enjoyed it immensely.

I see why this game exists and has a following. If I had played Baldur's Gate contemporaneously and been really into it, I would have been excited to get Icewind Dale aka "we have Baldur's Gate at home".

Playing it now, I just find the controls annoying and my viewpoint that I'd always rather be playing a turn-based game or an RTS instead of RTwP continues to be justified. I also found it quite jarring that the dialog choices for the characters were written as if they were a part of the world, but the dialog choices for the player felt like the way a teenager in the real world would talk. Strange choice.

Complaints aside, the industry as a whole should really be funding more projects that just seek to give people more of what they already know they want. Whenever someone does in a way that is competent and isn't too greedy or cynical (Stardew Valley, Path of Exile) they do very well.

My badge, please.

I beat it with a party of 4, as God intended. Fighter, cleric, rogue, mage.

How could two different percentages of people complete the game and defeat Belhifet?

I'm still mad gaym devs didn't allow me to dimension door out of her room and lead her guard through my traps. That was the only time I set traps and planned ambushes, the rest of the game is a corridor shooter. Pretty good game, though.

No, I was able to dimension door and lead her guards through my traps. I remember what happened. The door scripted shut and we couldn't unlock it to kill her. The game let me do what I wanted to do, but the devs were gay and forced the game to fail me. I wasn't about to admit defeat, so I consoled into her room and killed her. I cheated the cheaters, and it felt so good.

0/10 gaym
