There is an opportunity right now to make an ingame profit here buying tokens low and selling high. Right now, a new expansion has released, and people are gearing up in preparation for the new raid which will unlock in 3 days. Crafting professions are ruinously expensive, costing at least 500k gold to train up. So people have been selling tokens to buy gold so they can buy gear or to train their crafting professions.
It costs $20 to buy a Token through the ingame shop. When you right click a WoW token, it can be redeemed for $15 Bnet balance or 30 days game time. You cannot sell the same token you bought. So there is an enormous 25% cut that usually makes buying low/selling high unprofitable, but in this case the cost difference is so large that you will almost certainly be able to turn a profit. Once it goes back up to over 300k in a few months, you will make a profit selling tokens then. The big question is whether or not it will reach the historic 400k peak from the month before patch 10.2 released. If you sell then, you will make a 100k/50% profit.
I am not sure if it is safe to keep waiting and hope the token goes down any lower. Historically, the token price goes down lower when mythic raiding and M+ starts, but this expansion we had heroic dungeons available before, and the heroic dungeons give you good enough gear to start the normal raid or to do M+. When the season starts, I think a lot of people will say "my heroic dungeon gear is good enough" and won't buy as much gear. You rapidly get gear from doing M+, which will began on September 17th.
Starting with the Warlords of Draenor expansion, most main story questlines are voiced. By BFA/Shadowlands, several of the sidequests are voiced, but not most.
