List of woke and non-woke role-playing games
I actually joined this forum after coming here from Based Mods and reading this chart whereupon you put BG3 on your highest pozzed list.
You have no idea how disappointed I was with that game. The fact that my Paladin fell because he sided with the homeowner in act 3 who wanted the refugees removed from squatting in his home killed it entirely for me. I struggled to finish it after that and only did it so I could uninstall it and never play it again. The drag queen who ran the circus was also ridiculous. And truly, does anything think every male character wanting to grab your **** was a "Glitch"?

It was mostly able to be ignored until act 3 then becomes one of the most pozzed games I've ever played.DarkandGloomyname wrote: ↑ September 17th, 2024, 07:45I actually joined this forum after coming here from Based Mods and reading this chart whereupon you put BG3 on your highest pozzed list.

We have mods here that fix all of those things. You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

Sounds like you broke your oath. BG3 doesn't have alignments so there's no point in being "lawful."DarkandGloomyname wrote: ↑ September 17th, 2024, 07:45The fact that my Paladin fell because he sided with the homeowner in act 3 who wanted the refugees removed from squatting in his home killed it entirely for me.
Courage. Stride dauntlessly into action.
Compassion. Show clemency when prudent, and lend your arm to those in need.
Duty. Tend your responsibilities, obey just laws, and support those entrusted to your care.
Fight the Greater Evil. Exerting your wisdom, identify the higher morality in any given instance, and fight for it.
No Mercy for the Wicked. Chasten those who dole out their villainy by wiping their blight from the world forever.
All of these sound like "protect refugees" really.Kindle the Light. Through your acts of mercy, kindness, and forgiveness, kindle the light of hope in the world, beating back despair.
Shelter the Light. Where there is good, beauty, love, and laughter in the world, stand against the wickedness that would swallow it. Where life flourishes, stand against the forces that would render it barren.
Preserve Your Own Light. Delight in song and laughter, in beauty and art. If you allow the light to die in your own heart, you can’t preserve it in the world.
Be the Light. Be a glorious beacon for all who live in despair. Let the light of your joy and courage shine forth in all your deeds.
Charity is giving away things that don’t belong to you, apparently.Roguey wrote: ↑ September 17th, 2024, 11:33Sounds like you broke your oath. Fight the Greater Evil / No Mercy for the Wicked - this is literally a call to genocide what you consider to be evil (i.e. **** and other non-Whites).
The rest can be interpreted drastically differently depending on your worldview.

Nearly every single one of those points could be argued in favour of a homeowner who wants intruders gone off of his property. The only one that is heavily for refugees (and I mean that in the most correct sense of the word, not the economic migrant kind) is the last one.
Now, I haven't played BG3 past the end of Act 1 (the first meeting with Elminster and the spotting githyanki near some mountainside temple is where I stopped playing), so I can't say what kind of refugees are those. But still squatters aren't exactly the best sorts of people to have around.
"Oh, it all makes sense now, brother."

If they encountered an actual paladin, they'd be lucky if they got off with less than execution.

Honestly, just more evidence of how pozzed 5E/BG3 is. "Paladin" has nothing to do with actually being a paladin, it's a progressive-liberal interpretation and mockery of the original Paladin class and have stripped it of its lawful status. It's just some meandering progressive interpretation of "good", the same way they want christians to behave — like their doormats.
Allowing such rampant lawlessness should make a paladin fall.

Clerics having deities but paladins getting none and lacking basic religious knowledge was a bizarre choice
There is a mod which implements deities for Paladins into the game. But yeah, sucks that it isn't in the original state of the game.Oyster Sauce wrote: ↑ September 17th, 2024, 13:04Clerics having deities but paladins getting none and lacking basic religious knowledge was a bizarre choice
When and where the oath breaks should be changeable somehow.

paladins don't even require deities in 5e, and it's likely something they'll phase out entirely as BG3 is based on the newest(~5.5e) materialOyster Sauce wrote: ↑ September 17th, 2024, 13:04Clerics having deities but paladins getting none and lacking basic religious knowledge was a bizarre choice

Do they just learn spells that look like blessings? Where does their power come from? Does the abstract concept of vengeance let me smite things with holy light?rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ September 17th, 2024, 13:09paladins don't even require deities in 5e, and it's likely something they'll phase out entirely as BG3 is based on the newest(~5.5e) materialOyster Sauce wrote: ↑ September 17th, 2024, 13:04Clerics having deities but paladins getting none and lacking basic religious knowledge was a bizarre choice
You can make a "paladin" with neutral alignment who takes an oath to defend the environment like a ******* park ranger LMAO

Pretty much, yeah. Modern DnD and the brainrotted **** infiltrating it turned Paladin from a divine champion into a dude who smells his own farts so much that he gets godly powers. You just have to be really stubborn and insufferable and you gain the same kind of magic that literal divine conduits Clerics get from their deities. Basically, they made Paladins into social justice warriors.Oyster Sauce wrote: ↑ September 17th, 2024, 13:14Do they just learn spells that look like blessings? Where does their power come from? In BG3 at least, it’s a simple solution:
Break oath —> Better powers + Can’t multiclass (based) + cool new friend at campsite
Why AREN’T you oathbreaking yet?

Third edition was just 90s style politically correct. Race restrictions were removed from classes. Of the core 11, 6 were male, 5 were female, because that's as equal as it gets without slightly favoring the women.WhiteShark wrote: ↑ September 18th, 2024, 11:12You can't tell me with a straight face this isn't subversion.
