I gave up on finding Egenia in the end by the way. She was not in the temple nor in Dragon's Eye
There might be someone you failed to hunt down on level 4. You might need to split your party and comb over the rooms to make sure. In my playthrough I've spotted an enemy that I failed to kill when returning but he fled rather than engage (I presume this is happening because Yxu is dead)

I'm guessing the Great Oak would make for the best badge?

The strange thing is that the game is acting as if she is back in Kuldahar and she is no longer in the Dragon's Eye. I even did another sweep, but the only one I found was a single undead when I was going back out the first time after retrieving the stone :/ Will go back and do yet another sweep when I will be in need to resupply on arrows and darts, though the traps are very annoying on the lower levels.

I don't remember there being that many beetles in Dragon's Eye.
I don't remember there being that many trolls in Dragon's Eye.
I don't remember there being that many wights in Dragon's Eye.

Back to the good old "running around the brasero" technique
Image

I expected this fight to be super hard but it was surprisingly easy considering my wizard was lobotomized at the beginning and was drooling on the floor the whole fight, couldn't cast haste and luck. I struggled more in other parts of Dragon's Eye. (like at the beginning in the room with mother Egenia where a bunch of priests cast hold person)
I still did a second try because my familiar died and I wanted my wizard to participate in the fight. And with a bit more preparation it was even more easy.

Here as well, that troll fight felt more difficult than her and this is the only thing that left me perplexed with the game thus far. Though the traps in the rooms and the doors closing at the start of the fight to leave you trapped in the enclosed, trapped, space, with the only other option to go into the hanging corpses room were nice additions!

We've finished fighting through the Severed Hand and have found our way to Bandoth in Dorn's Deep. It's tempting to obtain all four of the Conjure Elemental spells while we can, but I'm leaning towards buying just the Summon Shadow as that spawns three creatures at once...

Image
The Bards are spending most of their time flinging spells now instead of singing. Although they don't gain spells nearly as fast as a mage, even with access to just the first three tiers of magic their presence on the battlefield has become quite pronounced. I'm surprised at how effective the level 1 spell Magic Missile has been so far.

Image
Had a funny moment where my Fighter/Thief put on Charisma lowering gear and brought his stat to zero. Literally became too insufferable to live killing himself instantly.

I couldn't relocate Egenia either. She seems to have left the Dragon's Eye room with all the trolls at some point but couldn't be found back in Kuldahar afterwardsImage

Exact same thing, though in my case, the first time I went looking for her, thinking I needed to inform her we were going back to Kuldahar, I found a single troll hiding in a corner.
I ended up going back to try finding her again as suggested, but she was still missing even after I killed two remaining wights that I missed on my second sweep of the place. I am not looking forward on re-revisiting every single nook and cranny of those empty caves again after going back once already, and have a mind to just let it be at this point, but I might in the future we will see.
Do let me know if you manage to find her or if it's some bug or something, glad to see I am not the only one that noticed she is mysteriously missing! I thought it was some plot point for her betrayal or something at first, until the priests in Kuldahar said she "is back" at the temple with them.

Well she'd better get back there.

She's important background for IWD2.

I decided to try and google "Egenia has disappeared" in the search and found this https://www.gog.com/forum/icewind_dale_ ... ind_egenia
► Show Spoiler
So it seems the rest is just "flavor text"? Can anyone confirm that she can indeed be back in Kuldahar later on? Could it be it is another "feature" of EE that they did?

I find the amount of blurring humorous XD Edited as I could not get the quote to work.

Looks like it's a bug that showed up in original sometimes too. (It doesn't matter much, though. I don't recall her saying anything important. )

Ended up rushing to the finish line with this one, Developed a fever this morning and was in bed for 15 hrs sweating it out. ****** up chapter 6 and couldn't get the holy avenger :P

Didn't end as high level as I thought I would for a 4 man party, probably need to go to 3 or 2 to really maximize XP gains, also I didn't go back and finish all the side quests like the ghost elfs garden. Still it was a fun little sprint, makes me want to play both BG games lol

Here is what I buffed up to, I know you get dispelled but all of these buffs are pretty easy to get back up mid combat. The archer fighter/thief was useless in the final fight, save for taking some punches from the golems, the skald did skald things.

This is the first time I seriously micro'd a cleric, very surprised how powerful they can get. I may have to do a BG trilogy fighter/cleric playthrough. Maiden Illmadia was the enemy who hit the hardest in the game, actually had to reload that fight because she killed my paladin.

In the ice museum I killed every salamander before talking to the slave guy in the below levels, and he asked me to retrieve the leader's key, yet no key dropped, am I screwed out of ever completing this quest, even though the slaves can now just walk out from the, now empty, upper levels?

Edit: Solved. I had a hunch to check on the store back in Kuldahar and I found out I had sold the key.

Archer proving to be a grand investment. Turned Yxunomei into giblets. That was a real ***** of a fight too, getting to be that I have to keep chaotic commands permanently memorized because they insist on putting feeblemind on my f/m/t for some reason.

End of Chapter 2 stats:

Skald: Level 13 within spitting distance of 14. (Can't wait for that sweet level 15 song boost)
Fighter (Future Mage): Level 11
Fighter (Future Druid): Also Level 11 both will be dualed at 13.
Ranger/Cleric: 9/9
Archer: 10
Fighter/Mage/Thief: 9/10/11

Right now I'm playing with a serious handicap because I'm saving most of my scrolls for my dual class mage and I can't remember how many of each scroll there are in the game. The cleric is the glue holding the party together and he won't be getting his major druid spells till later on. Once I can dual the druid though things will be a lot more pleasant. Which I'm sure will be happening somewhere in the middle of Severed Hand.
