Going to make my own party after learning the premade is from EE. Think I'm only going to do 3. Probably fighter/mage, fighter/mage/thief, and mage/cleric. I think.

Grease and stinking cloud work quite well if you can dish out the damage from afar

Print screen is kind of dead for a lot of games now. Win+shift+S or your GPU software hotkey are more reliable.
I'm regretting rolling a conjurer somewhat. You get locked out of too many good spells without Invocation/Evocation. If I were to roll a pure mage again I'd either go unkitted or try a Diviner. With the amount of experience you're given it seems like multi-classed characters have a lot of potential.

Multi-classing is only very rarely not the best option in IE games. Off the top of my head, it's harder for them to dispel & much easier to dispel multi-class buffs because dispel is based on caster level. But that really only matters if you're running Swordcoast Stratagems mod.

Good idea, I have grease and good ranged damage but I never use my spells.Element wrote: ↑ September 9th, 2024, 20:06Grease and stinking cloud work quite well if you can dish out the damage from afar

I forgot how incredibly useful "War Chant of the Sith" is. That and "Tymora's Melody" are pretty OP. Luck in general is OP in IE games - it provides a +1 to all rolls, meaning that:
- you can't critically fail
- it expands your critical threat range by 1.
Grease and aoe spells vs a bunch of zombies is way too good, my poor fighters almost didn't lift a finger.

I'm using Bless and Luck on my fighters now, they're crushing everythingAcrux wrote: ↑ September 11th, 2024, 18:18I forgot how incredibly useful "War Chant of the Sith" is. That and "Tymora's Melody" are pretty OP. Luck in general is OP in IE games - it provides a +1 to all rolls, meaning that:
Fatigue does just the opposite, by the way - and stacks.

Finally took down Yxunomei.
Couldn't pull off the strat where you rush her with buffed fighters and take her down before she has a chance to summon. That would get her down to injured at the most and then proceed to a total wipe. Wound up in a protracted slug fest in a doorway with a billion spells to slow down her minions, plant aoe traps, and spawn a constant stream of summoned goblins, undead and yetis. The summoner's staff is a lifesaver here.
Lost a ranger - didn't bother picking up the gear when going back to the temple. The gear despawned. A most unfortunate blemish. Must have been 10k worth of gold right there.

I was THIS close from having this happen as well. Wanted to get a better price on resurrection for my beast master and went all the way back to Kuldahar from the Dragon's Eye entrance as I forgot it scaled with the level, then just decided to reload afterwards as I couldn't figure out why he was randomly dying (forgot familiars dying detracts CON permanently and he is left with 1 to Constitution).Finarfin wrote: ↑ September 12th, 2024, 19:42Kek, same. You could in the original IWD. EE removed this (I think it was too hard for them to figure out) unless you move the save into the multiplayer folder and do some stuff.swbgtoc wrote: ↑ September 12th, 2024, 19:34You can recruit new characters? I reload every time someone dies

I wanted to ask three questions if I may. Spoiler ahead from before going to the Severed Hand.
1) Where is Egenia in Kuldahar? I wanted to see everyone before departing but cannot find her in the temple or surroundings.
2) Do I need all those keys I got from the crypts+the symbol of Myrkul? I have been carrying them around for a while and, without a bag of holding, they are using up quite a bit of space.
3) That woman with the ghouls in Dragon's Eye, Presio, did I miss dialogue with her/was she the voice from the undead in the area? I have her journal, but she, even with items named after her, was strangely gone in an instant, and I feel like I missed something.

You can sell them to Gerth, that's what he's for from what I understood. He tells you he'd take up any trinkets and other useless stuff you don't need and even let you buy them back later if you need.
I don't know why but you can't sell him the caravan contract though, I stored it at the inn.

Chapter 1 wasn't so awful, once you get undead to hide behind things become so much easier. Not quite ready to dual class my fighters yet so I'm still without a druid or a mainline mage. Dragon's Eye is going to suck.

Game Start!
I decided to go with a 4 man party focused around attacking.
Paladin (Undead Hunter)
Cleric (Priest of Lathander)
Fighter/Thief
Bard (Skald)
Hopefully being the smaller party will get enough XP to make up for being 2 members short in the action economy. My frontline should be plenty strong with Cleric buffs and Skald song, with the skald having a good enough AC should he need to tie down something while he sings.

I gave up on finding Egenia in the end by the way. She was not in the temple nor in Dragon's Eye

It gets unfocused when I do it. If it's fine, let me know, I can make it smaller if needed.
