I think it's not released on Steam yet. You can download the toolkit data though

****, I hope this will be available on GOG as well soon. I really don't want to purchase the game on Steam on to get access to this toolkit - in that case I must either skip trying to mod the game, or resort to pirating stuff.

Just wait it out, worst case scenario you'll have to wait until October (when the patch it releases on consoles) to get it from GoG. Besides, the tools didn't add much outside a pretty GUI to make modding idiot-proof.
Long story short, do you guys think it's gonna make fixing the whole game aka changing entire story chunks etc.. possible or is it way more limited than they make it sound ?
It's very limited and will make simple stuff easier but all the big/complicated mods that already exist like No alphabets already eclipse what the tool can do.pokafox wrote: β September 7th, 2024, 17:15Been completely out the loop anything BG3 for months now but just noticed the Toolkit release on Steam.

Being surprised by this is why Larian will never top the success of BG3 acts 1 and 2. They don't understand what people play RPGs for. If you want an audience who will play dress-up with the character creator then you should be selling a barbie game to young girls.

Yeah, it's the typical projection from these people, they believe that just because they enjoy certain things a certain way then that automatically means that everyone enjoys the exact same things they do.

Nah, it's less innocent, more obnoxious than that.

Reminds me of all the screenshots of fuckawful mods I used to collect from Dragon Age Origins Nexusmods page so that I could torment anons on /v/ with them. There was a screenshot of Dragon Age Awakening modded with such horrendous mods that it looped around to being artistically beautiful in its hilarity.

Why won't the Faerunians kill demonic creatures such as that red woman on sight? Why do they suffer them to live? If we look at it from a historical point of view, a "medieval" or "renaissance" society of farmers and warriors weren't really all that ...accepting. Is there some in-universe explanation? Is it just bad, politically driven world building? What of similar generic campaign worlds which lazily lists ***** tieflings as a standard character race?
Even if they just set out to make the game a vehicle for their ugly propaganda it's lazy design to have these fucks pop up here and there without anyone raising an eyebrow.
It's an exclusive thing from 5e that was made as an "anti-racist" move or somethin because it turns out that tieflings were the most popular race of 5e by a considerable margin. It was widely accepted by the tabletop community as a whole that the reason of the tieflings' popularity was that it was quite easy to have a dramatic or "edgy" backstory if you were someone who was born looking like a devilspawn, and likewise it was easy to create drama during role-play as well if there was a lot of social stigma against someone who looked like that.Hauberk wrote: β September 10th, 2024, 21:14Questions. However, because WotC - being the tone-deaf disconnected morons they are - didn't wanted players who picked tieflings as their race to "feel oppressed", they shoehorned a new recent lore retcon that stated that tieflings were always considered an heroic race by all mortal beings because of some great feat that some adventurer tieflings did centuries ago or some weird lazy **** like that.
Previous editions of DnD did it better even in their CRPGs because when you first meet Neeshka - a tiefling companion - in Neverwinter Nights 2 you find her about to get gang-killed by a bunch of corrupt guards who targeted her simply because of her looks. But now tieflings lost the main thing that made them attractive to play, just like how pretty much all races were sanitized in the most recent versions of DnD.

It's the same ******* thing with the drow. They became ultra popular (probably due to the Salvatore books), but as time went on, they became the focus of gay / BDSM fantasies (just google 'drow' and the gay / femdom **** starts) and since they are popular they now must be good or at least neutral, and not bound to Lolth. So now, being a drow basically means, 'obsidian skinned elf'.
Idk how official that it, but when I read the lore on Eilistraee followers for an upcoming DnD campaign, there was a line talking about non-drow followers applying black paint on their face and bodies when participating in Eilistraee ritualsBannedForBeingSane wrote: β September 11th, 2024, 03:52Jesus H. average Lolth cult: cringe gore, womble rulz, more gore
Eilistraee gigachads:

Not sure how they expect us to craft enticing, dramatic stories without any sort of conflict in their "utopian world where everyone gets along". Stories without conflict at all are boring.UltraFan123 wrote: β September 10th, 2024, 21:33It's an exclusive thing from 5e that was made as an "anti-racist" move or somethin because it turns out that tieflings were the most popular race of 5e by a considerable margin. Yes but I won't tell you what changed or why.destinyhntr wrote: β September 12th, 2024, 04:02Also, I have returned to hear about updates on BG3. Has anything significant changed or is it not worth doing another playthrough?
Not really. Technically there are some interesting bits if you have yet do an evil Dark Urge run, but most of the hype was caused by the Mod Toolkit, which will take months/years to be truly fruitful.destinyhntr wrote: β September 12th, 2024, 04:02Also, I have returned to hear about updates on BG3. Good to know. I've already done an evil durge run but wouldn't mind doing it again if there was more than a few additional cutscenes. Is it worth it or just a few minutes of added content?Statesman wrote: β September 12th, 2024, 04:19Not really. As far as I understood it, aside from the toolkit, the update was some additional kissing animations with Astarion, not sure there was more than that (and the "kissing" stuff was already an entire update a while back that I recalldestinyhntr wrote: β September 12th, 2024, 04:21Good to know. Thank you for existing!
Besides the extra scenes, just some extra banter/dialog options, not worth a new playthrough.destinyhntr wrote: β September 12th, 2024, 04:21Good to know.
