It's just my own speculation from what I've seen in their games. It truly appears that they go out of their way to make most of the female characters super fuckable, while most of the men are either ugly or average-looking at best (character models and faces; DOS1 through BG3). Smacks of coomer-brain to me, but again it's just my perception. One immediate example in BG3 I can think of is how male Githyanki sport the lore-friendly Auschwitz bodies, while the females are curiously filled out by comparison. They should have skeletal bodies too, yet they don't. They may have figured Lae'zel wouldn't be fuckable if she looked like an anorexic. There's also all the ***** clothes and such, for example all the female nobles dressing like they work in a brothel, etc.

There's also just them going out of their way to give Shart as much content as possible, both in the full game and through patches where she consistently takes priority over the other companions (I understand why: she's the conventionally attractive female, and gamers are simps). Ultimately, it's all circumstantial, but the pattern is impossible to ignore.

Larian's character design choice is the biggest mystery to me, 2023 game with Oblivion quality character presets, but without Oblivion's character creation menu features? The whole thing smells like there was nobody supervising 3D artists at all, or there was some coomer grandpa trying to shove his wet dream into the game. Or both. Dudes indeed look much uglier than women, heads in general have worse proportions than a botox victim. Don't forget about elves with aged flawed human skin, wrinkles and politically correct nationality that is native for a place like Feywild.

Obvious favoritism for Shadowheart is so obvious it's nauseating, Shadowlands part is literally her one personal quest, can't step anywhere without Shar this, Shar that, oh hey, look, it's all Shar's doings... again. But what I found absolutely laughable is how only Shart has a reaction for the player's character sitting on her chair at camp, but other companions don't have that same or similar feature. So much for equality, isn't it, Larian?

You are forgetting the most telling factor. She is so instrumental to the plot because she has the McGuffin, that no matter how much you try, she will find a way into your party to deliver the McGuffin. Big Ol' Papa Swen even said so on interviews that he realized that Shart had to be forced into the party no matter what due to how the plot was constructed.

BG3 is game I should like since it essentially the modern game version of DA:O and if I’m being uncharitable DOS:3 . However it does a lot of little stuff in story and characters that made it just ok. A enjoyable but ultimately hollow experience.

Then discovering the save file was 20+ GB. Which is unheard of for any other game I have ever played where its maybe a few KB. I hope they fired whatever glownigger spook programmed the save functionality in BG3.

I remember seething about DA:O's save files being 15+ MB. Now I would kill and die to return to that.
