Even the big games don't look much better than triple a stuff from the mid 2010s. Better facial animation maybe, but lots of janky movement animations in general that I dont remember noticing years ago in gaming.

Mafia: Italian Edition is quite the reversal from the We Was Mafiosos and **** from four eight years ago.

KCD 2 was really the only thing that kept my interest.

It's basically KCD2 and a couple of indie side scrolling horror lites if you like those (little nightmares 3 and reanimal, with the latter looking a tad more interesting imo)

There's an undercurrent of "we need to dial things down," so I half expect them to try and avoid that, even though the new movie had that ****, and stick to something more like the original movies, which is partly about building up negative associations with Nationalism, particularly in Christians. I also expect that they'll try to make the Nazis look silly or as crazy as possible, rather than an intimidating threat (cool).

I'm always sincere. Making Mafia 100% Italy is an improvement over their previous game where you were a black guy on an Italian-American killing spree. KCD 2 was the best game they showcased.

I assume the new Mafia will likely be more of an RDR than Mafia. Classy early 20th century Europe, horses, revolvers/break-action shotguns/slow rifles instead of automatics.

Number of ages is not the problem, Old World has just one age (the best age) and it is vastly superior.
The problem is and always has been that the mechanics fall apart the longer you go. They could do 10 ages but only up until the medieval and it would be a better game.
