I've recently been giving the first "Vesteria Saga" a shot. This is an indie production from the creator of Fire Emblem himself, Shouzou Kaga. Although the game does not provide a great first impression, being comprised of a lot of premade assets from it's engine (which is basically RPG Maker for SRPGs), and starting as a small window which you have to press F4 to enlarge. Cutscenes are also unskippable, and if you press the Esc key the game exits completely without any warning. This was an annoyance on two occasions.

But if you look past it's production values, the game is pretty good and has a story reminiscent of the GBA Fire Emblems, which is funny because Kaga had nothing to do with those titles or any of the later games. It's a challenging affair and will show you no mercy if you're not careful. I picked the easier setting as it's giving me a difficult time so far, but I'll chip at it when I can.

Had them for years but had to sell them with some other collectibles/hobby related stuff when I moved and had some family/money issues at one point when I was younger. Got a physical set back now a year ago or so. I theory craft a lot over character ideas... when to dual class and what one, what skills to pick and when more than I actually play unfortunately. Hoping to narrow down a character finally and fire up NWN Diamond OC again after 4 years of not playing. Thinking 2H Paladin and got the skills/stats planned out. Just have to hit "play".

I’m finally making some progress in X-piratez (a total conversion mod for open xcom). I can’t recommend this enough if you are a fan of the original xcom games. There’s so much added content and mechanical depth, with a ton of original artwork on top.

Started Cave Story. It's a lot of fun. I abandoned it many moons ago because I stopped getting gun upgrades at level 3 and it ****** me off.

I am in need of a fun but mediocre and janky game. Something where you kind of hate yourself for playing it but at the same time also have some weird enjoyment going through. I love a good clunker.

Already played them some years ago, enjoyed them. No they didn't come in a magazine for free for me.

I might give Drakensang a go from that list. I did try Elex once but I didn't like it much and the setting never grabbed me.

I think it was Gothic that came in gaming magazines for Europeans, maybe it was some other ****. I can't be bothered to remember, tbh.

They were distributed for free as part of gaming magazines to unsuspecting slavic children as part of a government-funded program to create an eastern europe loyal to the german government through cultural dominance. Similarly, so were the Gothic games and a few other German-made video game series.

Played through Alone in the Dark (2024). The gameplay was alright, it's the same slop like every other modern horror game like nu - Resident Evil, Dead Space, Callisto Protocol etc. It wasn't that pozzed, it's a modern game so obviously there had to be ******* in it and lesbobait, but for the most part considering it's 2024 it seemed like a pretty normal game written by people who go outside from time to time. I liked the horror and atmosphere of it, it wasn't really that scary at all but I prefer that over the constant jumpscare **** that just causes me to be tense throughout the entire game and never really appreciate the surroundings or explore the lore properly. It's not a bad game, not sure if I'd suggest anyone to buy it unless it's on a really good sale, but definitely worth pirating if in the mood for semi-horror detective kino.

Sex with ruth would've made the game go from 7.5 to 8.5

In that time period she would have been seen as quaint and eccentric and an oddity, albeit an amusing one. I have no doubt the devs meant it seriously though.

Finished Metroid: Zero Mission. Big improvement on the original with the map, save points, and statues that lead you in the direction of where to go next. Being an Elder Millennial, I was pumped every time I heard the Brinstar theme, particularly the faster reprise at the end. The stealth-oriented addition at the end was pretty neat. I don't regret playing it on Easy because Mother Brain and Mecha-Ridley at the end were both terribly demanding and would have been so much more aggravating. I never even finished the original without the use of an invincibility cheat, so this is a step above that.

I recently started to play L.A. Noire and it's enjoyable, even though I'm kinda bad at it so I have to go back to the main menu every time I make a mistake. I swear that I might be autistic sometimes cuz I can't tell when someone is lying unless it's extremely obvious

So driving, shooting, and looking for clues isn't gameplay? Sounds like you've never played it. You were so eager to insult me when you don't even know what you're talking about

Also for clarification, when I say that I'm kinda bad at it, I mean when interrogating people. I wanna avoid getting something wrong so I go back to the last autosave the game made

Whatever stuff you're on right now, keep it far away from me :read:

Gameplay literally just means the interactivity in a game, things you control

But what if, by saving and reloading repeatedly, it helps me to better fulfil my ROLE in my ROLE playing game?.
