Europa Universalis

I've seen some others mention playing EUIV and as my Paradox slop of choice (quadruple hour playtime unfortunately) I figured I'd make a thread. Anybody have preferred countries they like to play as over and over again? Any notable campaigns? Project Caesar/EUV is in development and looks promising despite the pure trash that Paradox has been putting out for the past few years.

I last played played EU4 about 10 years ago, did the usual Portugal playthrough. Was almost winning until the British kicked my *** in the 1700s in naval battles.

The eternal swede promises no more mana and pops. Also it's apparently going to go all the way to the Victoria start date which would be pretty funny if it manages to completely **** Vicky3 which is a total ******* nightmare.
It still has that goyslop UI design though so I'm not holding my breath.

It's just that CK3 and Vic3 have been so incredibly pozzed and anti-white/western that I imagine EU5 will be further pathetic pandering to Turd Worlders.

Unless they add country rulers EU has always been more abstracted that it's kind of hard to poz. There's the woman DLC but it just adds some advisors that I never use lol.

EUV confirmed for awful 3D portraits. I guess this is just the direction every paradox game is going in now.

It was always gonna be ****. I just hope Tinto will continue on 4 because the game is actually great right now. I don't know if I'll ever touch eu5 in my life though, paradox has proven they can't make anything good anymore  .

I don't really care if they continue work on EUIV or not. Every new expansion has been pretty underwhelming with a couple of new features that amount to more thinks to spend mana on that will be abandoned by the next update.

Yeah but compared to when DDR jake was ruining the game for competitive single player balance there's a lot of nice little things being added and the game is actually enjoyable. I'm just happy every new update doesn't add in a mechanic to make playing the game feel like crushing my **** with a rock. Everything past leviathan has been good enough for me and I don't think the game needs anything but flavor and fleshing out regions at this point anyways, its basically a complete product.

Like I said I don't really care either way. All the countries I play are pretty set in stone and any changes are just a mild annoyance at worst.

What if you gave the different sections of paint names and competed to see which would dry faster?

Looking through some old files I found a post game map I had made for one of my playthroughs as France.

After I kept cucking Austria their main rival Bohemia became the >HRE. They basically controlled all of Germany and Central Europe you're just seeing the aftermath of me pushing them all the way to the east. As for Denmark I don't remember two random German states snaked their way up there probably.

It's a handful of clients states I made. The real confederation as it's depicted in the later start dates is completely unfeasible as you go like 10+ over your diplomatic relwtions limit just from all the vassals. Even in my game it started to get a little tenuous towards the end because even though I split it into about 4-5 client states they were still powerful enough I needed to constantly babysit and placate them so they didn't rebel.

Been trying out Anbennar, which is a fantasy conversion mod. Its actually pretty fun and well done. The devs are clearly libtards from some of the flavor choices and little design things here and there but I've had a surprisingly good time with it ignoring that.
Its probably a mix of using the XormeAI mod with it but the AI is a real threat every game as well, I've not once been number 1 great power yet and in my last game as a dwarf hold an AI economic and military hegemon both were declared before the 1700s.

This is from my latest game trying out the dwarves, there's some fun unique mechanics to learn and try out of most of the regions so far. I roleplayed a little and tried not to conquer anything outside of the serpentspine (the huge mountain range that goblins and dwarves are native to) and recapture all of the holds.

The other good run was re-forming the rome of the setting starting as a weak nation with the former ruling dynasty.

There might be some libtarded **** but then again Anbennar-and EU4-take place during the period in which the *spit* “Enlightenment” takes place. You can also be super-based Colonizing Chads. Like there is an option to Expel or Purge racial minorities in your nation, as well as increasing stability debuffs the more diverse your country is. Also Orc slavery, because revenge for the Greentide.
