Besides, like i said, all these changes can be a toggleable options so everyone who was happy with how things are can stay happy.WhiteShark wrote: ↑ June 5th, 2024, 14:08While he shouldn't be a neurotic whiner about it, I think it's good for a dev to stick to his vision and not add these supposedly necessary convenience features. This isn't genuine complaining, it's him advertising his game by getting people to retweet how hardcore/old school it is.Segata wrote: ↑ June 5th, 2024, 13:14"NOOOOOOOO DON'T GIVE ME SUCCESS AAAAAAA THIS IS THE WORST THING EVER MY LIFE IS RUINED"

Indeed. The correct response would have been "It has been designed this way to give the best experience specific to this game. blablbla. Thankyou for purchasing and I hope you enjoy it regardless".WhiteShark wrote: ↑ June 5th, 2024, 14:08While he shouldn't be a neurotic whiner about it, I think it's good for a dev to stick to his vision and not add these supposedly necessary convenience features. Also it sounds to me like this dev is getting annoyed that "normal" people are annoying his game.
Remember all the "these games are not for YOU, chuds!" Attitude from the ****** devs? I bet this is that, too.
It wanted a small, ****** friendly audience to play it and treat it with kid gloves due to that "representation", not a wide group of critical chuds.

The funny part is that the game could apparently use a key to swap to last weapon because of the weapon designs...
You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

Game actually gets much more fun on higher difficulty levels, playing it on normal first time was a mistake, i just slept trough most of the game without any care for it.
Togglable hardcore mode is pretty cool too, though i'd tweak it a bit to make maybe a little bit less annoying when you all out of cash to save and have to replay big chunks of levels, just to try that one fight where you died before again. Maybe make it 200 per save rather than 400, i think that would've been more reasonable. The save points are also rather rare and would require a few playtroughs to remember at any given point how soon you get to save, it also sucks when you have to leave the game and turn your PC off.
And what i said about music wasn't really true, i played that **** mall level for too long and that music stuck to my head when i wrote the part about it. The rest of OST is decent, it has good bass and beat drops here and there, but personally i'd prefer the White Bat over it.
Also the game really benefits from having a slow-mo feature. I spent about half an hour trying to figure out how to mod it in gzdoom and did not regret it. The reaction time of some enemies later in the game still allows for decent challenge even on 0.5 speed, without it's basically tarkov where you get HEAD-EYES'd by everything, the game can be properly hard. Apparently it wasn't in the game originally cuz the it "can" cause some problems within the engine, mess up the scripted events, but after full playtrough with this feature i haven't found anything like that.

After playing with it on very hard and then moving to hardest difficulty without it, i'd say it really isn't needed due to how enemies AI works, how they shoot at your current position and as long as you moving you're much less likely to get hit by seemingly realistically fast projectiles. It is more for the spectacle, the sprites like paper stacks, mugs, bottles, etc. do look very lovely in slow-mo when shot at during the chaotic shootouts. It does make the game easier to a degree when you get extra seconds to make decisions in some encounters, but that's about it, you won't be beating hardmode on harder difficulties just because of it.
Some steam reviews say that apparently the game has too much text for them, which it may if you really don't care to read anything and just want to play the funny shooty game, but then after second playtrough i read all of it out of curiosity and It's dissapointingly not a whole lot, i really wish more of the setting and it's lore was revealed, you get some breadcrumbs of what officially happen to earth in this setting but then you find a notepad that says they got the recordings from how the things went to **** and that it would be really easy to edit them to control the narrative, so those breadcrumbs of lore might as well be all fake and gay, and it really sucks that ill have to wait around 18 more months till they release the rest of the game to get to know what they were really going for here.
Also, Civvie did a good video on it.
