There's some irony in that progressives always receive the worst treatment from future progressives.

The Kurak were one of the more interesting cultures of the lost valley. Evidently descended from certain South American Indian tribes (or so their dialect attests), they appear to have profited more from interaction with other tribes than their fellows. Their legends make it clear that they have frequently accepted exiles into their ranks, particularly exiled warriors and runaways from other tribes. This has certainly profited their gene pool and given them a reputation as the valley's "melting pot" tribe.

I like how the video points out that none of the people complaining about how racist Savage Empire is ever articulate their claims. Depicting any kind of Amerindian or African with a historically-accurate-level of technology/culture compared to Europeans makes them feel uncomfortable. Sawyer got some similar criticism when he made Honest Hearts (he initially defended himself but has since bent the knee).

The manual and cluebook repeatedly refer to her as looking "Amerindian" and with "coppery skin that suggests the Aboriginal tribes of the Americas". I agree she is "white coded", as the kids would say, in all the art except Loubet's, in which she is vaguely bronzed.
