I've already seen two negative reviews for the esg npcs, repetative fetch quests, inability to call your ship or crew to your position, and shallow worldbuilding. Sounds like a massive turd, and I'm skeptical seeds will be moddable.

what's the variety of non-human enemies like?
Ranges from 'meh' to Kino. The NMS influences are pretty stark here but Bethesda did at least try to cultivate ecosystems on planets ( Some are territortial, some are herbivores and some are predators, etc.
)..

I respect the attempt but honestly it usually just means huge pacts of roaming dinosaur looking things spawn in huge clumps and start slapping each other around.. it sometimes feels really nice but often it's... eh..

In the more handcrafted quests and locations though, they're far better utilized imo.

I am secretly hoping I'll stumble across a Moon or Dead world that is Pitch Black or Dune themed where you think your alone then giant sand worms or nocturnal bug things come out at night and try to kill you.. but based on what I've seen so far.. Bethesda likely didn't have time or budget to give it that much care outside of any quests.

Yeah their poor, small indie studio of 400 people + outsourced pajeets and nguyens only had 7 years and 200 million dollars...I'm sure they were just about to implement all sorts of cool stuff when the evil publishers forced them to rush the game out.

You shill. They had ten years and millions of dollars to make something, and that something is barely on par with a ten year old indie game. Starfield is such a mediocre game that shills are simultaneously telling me "those games starfield is better than? y-you can't compare starfield to those!" Right. Never trust anyone who tells you a AAA game wasn't trying to be King in it's genre. What a cope.

You can disable the ugly crowd NPCs by putting

Code: Select all

[AI]
bCrowdSystemEnabled=0
In your StarfieldCustom.ini file(Documents/My Games/Starfield/StarfieldCustom.ini)

I can't tell if this is a placebo or not, but does anyone see any difference when using this?

Code: Select all

[Memory]
bEnableCrowdHeads=0
It seems like it might be disabling some sort of random generation on heads? They at least don't seem to be generating 90% abbos anymore in new niggerlanta.

Think I might(?) have figured out why NPCs look so **** weird sometimes. It appears that, for whatever reason, sometimes eyebrows don't load.

most unrealistic part of starfield is there's actual ingame cosmetic surgery capable of changing your race and black people still exist

Not really.. Stores are open 24/7.. some NPC's might shift from cooking / sitting / eating / sleeping.. but for the most part the city doesn't really change much.

Compare this to Imperial City at night time. Every shop closes and locks it doors.. merchants to home and sleep in their homes (with their keys).. Store guards watch the store at night.
When you were doing thieves quests specifically you really felt like you were doing a late night caper.

> New Atlantis still filled with disgusting, overweight, old, decrepit, black people rolling around like bumper cars and stuffing their faces with cheeseburger cubes all day

it's Inon Zur, the guy's music sounds the same regardless of what game he's composing for. DA2 was probably his only semi-original outing.

Pretty sad that he went for Fo-style music. I was hoping for something synth-like, closer to ME1.

Space travel is a mess.. Rusty coping aside, if your only means of transportation is constantly fast travelling because it takes 2000 years IRL to move from a planet to a moon, it's a bit of a miss.. yes "muh realism, muh empty space, muh big space" - that's called gameplay design.. You've got star ******* teleporting around with quantum pewpew lasers.. but my space ship can only travel the speed of a honda civic. Make some **** up so that it's fun, cause juggling fast travel menus constantly is not fun.
Some Twitch thot actually tried to fly to another planet without quicktravel. The result of the experiment, 6 IRL hours later, is that the planet didn't load and she just flew through it, so even space is instanced and the objects you can see are just LOD models with no collision or interactions.

Is there one speed? I don't understand why you couldn't burn your space gas to fly to a planet in ten minutes and get stranded there for pirates to spawn to you, or coast guard to haul you back home.
