Surprised at how well the character controls, it's a shame they decided to just use NWN combat again & base it on a very, very lite version of 3.5e tho.

Bioware was doing the dialogue wheel years before it was a dialogue wheel. Going back o my argument that people who hate dialogue wheels just hate it because they no longer get off on the idea of them thinking they're coming up with the dialogue.

This is just "Sarcastic Yes", "Yes", and "Angry Yes"

I didn't continue from that save, I was combing through the executable for undocumented config options

KOTOR 1 made me wish for a quick travel option.

I even killed that Twi'lek on Taris that wants to fake his own death because I was too lazy to go all the way back.

Morrowind has fast travel. It's well integrated into the world, but it's still there.

FYI you can enable EAX audio in the same config file(swkotor.ini installation directory), plop the files from this into the game's root directory:
https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/65094?tab=files

It's just a build of OpenAL soft + DSOAL, not specific to FNV.

How about the Sith logo for the badge? It depicts the Star Forge and KotOR is the only thing it features in.
► 400x400 PNGs in different colors
We could also just use the desktop icon of Malak's head. Because if we ever have a KotOR 2 guild thread, using the icon of Nihilus' head for that would be better than any logo. It's the most visually recognizable thing about that game, I'd argue.
Would like either the black or red/blue ones if @rusty_shackleford wants to do a super special alignment variant badge for KotOR. Needs to be scaled down though.

I get what you mean. The swkotor.ico would be recognizable to anyone who played it.
Should we just put the game executable icons as banners for every game?

I personally prefer the more abstract badges. The Malak head doesn't look very good at such low resolution.

I traced the logos from @logincrash's post and made an SVG, check @wndrbr's post to see it, which do you guys think looks better?

The red looks pretty good. Whoever originally picked the RPGHQ colors for the forum logo has great taste.
What if we do both red and blue but with transparent background?

Anyone have any issues with low FPS?
Set
Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1
to 0 in swkotor.ini in the game's directory

Code: Select all

!!VP1.0 # This is the vertex program for doing the bumpy-shiny stuff.
very cool, bioware, thanks
I was getting big stutters on Dantooine and had to reverse this btw, rather odd.

Is KotOR 2 really associated with blue? I think it would be the other way around. KotOR 1's UI is blue, KotOR 2's UI is greenish. The Star Forge symbol is much much less prominent in 2. Darth Nihilus' mask is also very stark and recognizable and it was the .exe icon for KotOR 2.

Anyone know the technical reason kotor hasn't been ported to kotor 2's engine? Surely the data files used are extremely similar?

[edit]
It does exist.
